Drake was ready to snap and attack at this point. Dylan walked toward us and my heart started racing faster and faster. The smell was strong enough now I could tell it apart. Stronger since everyone got close to me, Drake, Alexander, and Dylan. Could it be Dylan? Is this some twisted way fate decided to show me my mate?
"The dinner is over. Alphas and your respective betas, my office NOW!" Demanded my father as they all left the room and the pack members dispersed. My father walked away as she led the alphas, including Bradley and their betas. The pack's remaining members stayed where they were.
It wasn’t much, maybe three other people per pack. This was too much drama for my birthday. I stood there and stared at Dylan. I felt so warm, almost on fire. He walked closer to me, and I just wanted to scream for him. I felt like I would almost faint when he got closer. I backed away from him and took my heels off holding them in my left hand. Next thing I knew I ran to my room as my heart raced. I grow colder and colder the further from him I got. What is this feeling? Is this how it feels when you find your mate? If so, then why did I feel this way near more than just Dylan? I slammed my door shut behind me and pressed my back against it. Calm down, Katie I thought to myself as I tried to calm my heart, it raced as if I had run a marathon.
Dylan's POV
My heart tried to escape as I saw her. It's Katie. She had to be my mate, and I can hear her heart going crazy. She had to feel the bond to her as her heart raced with mine. I was about to head to her when her father took her to those alphas. I couldn't stand how they looked at her. As if they would take her away from me and fuck her to their heart's content.
I stood there and balled my fist up as hard as I could, I almost broke some of my fingers in the rage that had taken over. The Eight Moons alpha was by her now, and he was full of bad intentions. The way he had looked at her, a look as if he would turn her into a sex slave. I was about to attack him when I heard the growl. Her father was not in the mood for this one bit. I could tell he also hated how that alpha had eye fucked her. I sighed with relief as I saw the alpha step in. Growls and screams. I tuned out what had been said as I focused on Katie.
The betas rushed to their alphas, and everyone stormed off. The pack members fled the room in terror. This isn't good at all. I looked for my father and he had joined the alphas. I rushed over to Katie. She was as lovely as ever. The crimson dress with black lace down the sides. I just wanted her in my arms. That's when it hit me, the realization that she was eighteen, finally. I walked closer to her, and my heart was about to pound out of my chest. She took one look at me and ran. But isn’t she my mate? Why did she just run away like I was nothing? I stood there as my heart crumbled into pieces, my body felt cold. It was as if she had rejected me without having spoken a single word.
