‘’Dirk, what are you talking about? What article??’’
‘’Y-you mean you don’t know?’’
‘’Know what??’’ I said a little impatiently now.
‘’Look at your phone sir’’
‘’I can’t, my batteries flat’’
‘’Then look at mine…’’
With a calm sigh, I took Dirk’s cell from him and read the featured article on the home page:
‘’PITTIFUL’’ it read in big block letters, with the subject heading underneath reading: ‘’Seattle’s hottest eligible bachelor Hudson Avery, dating ‘Just a nobody’…’’
A horrified chill instantly cut down my spine.
My heart thudded hard, and my stomach knotted tight as I hastily clicked the down arrow to expand the rest of the article…
‘’…quite literally in fact, sources close to the couple say. The lady in question we’re told is a 26 year old Taylor Wainwright, who sources have informed us not only works for, but apparently also lives with company founder and chairman of the popular social media app, Tazer. After allegedly finding Miss Wainwright sleeping homeless on the streets one night, the illustrious social media mogul appeared to have taken pity on the young stranger, and invited her with him to his personal residence. We’re unsure exactly when the attraction between Mr. Avery and the mystery woman almost 10 years his junior started, but it’s evident he was willing to explore what was there, as it’s said he soon appointed her as his personal PA. This unknown stranger now has access to company information as part of her duties we’re told, along with what we’re also told earns her a very generous pay packet from the eligible millionaire bachelor. Sources continue on to say that just last week a private party amongst friends -attendees being some of Seattle’s top elite- was thrown in honor to celebrate the new couple, where Mr. Avery’s love interest allegedly moonlighted as an elitist herself, while on the arm of her millionaire boyfriend.
It’s not certain how much Mr. Avery’s dolled up imposter has managed to so far earn while living with him under his roof, but their unique relationship, or ‘fling’ according to some –which we were shockingly told the young ladies innocence was also given to Mr. Avery as part of her ‘duties’- has said to have angered many amongst his circle of friends. Some even going as far as to call Miss Wainwright, and I quote ‘’a homeless gold digging whor-’’
I couldn’t read anymore.
My stomach felt like acid, and I swear I was going to be sick.
‘’Sir I really am sorry’’ he said again nervously ‘’I…I just don’t understand how something like this could have happe-‘’
‘’Cancel all my meetings for today’’ I said handing Dirk back his phone, and turned on my heel exiting fast out from Tazer headquarters.
My cell phone battery was on 20 percent now, and I quickly unplugged the portable powerbank, and placed it back inside my trouser pocket where it had been charging.
‘’Come on baby pick up, please pick up’’ I said desperately dialing her number again and again, as I hurried my way out to my car in determination to find her.
I kept assuring myself everything was okay, that she hadn’t yet seen the article and I was working up an unnecessary sweat for nothing. But deep down my stomach continued to knot and re-knot with worry, as I was about ready to visceral vomit myself after reading it, and so I could only imagine Taylor’s reaction if she’d read it too.
I had so many unanswered questions right now, and so many things I wanted to address all at once regarding that fucking damning article!!! But right now, every bit of it could wait until I found my love.
I just now arrived back at the apartment, continuing to call Taylor’s phone every five minutes but to no avail, she wasn’t picking up. I dared not think how betrayed she must be feeling right now, and if I could just find her I know I can make all this right.
Beep beep…
I paused coming out from the elevator to check my phone that beeped with a notification, naturally hoping it was Taylor reaching out to me no matter the state of anger she was in. Unfortunately it wasn’t her, but it was something that instantly stopped me in my tracks when opening up the email that came through…

I was a little knocked for six, and began instantly scrolling my contacts for my financial advisor.
Ring ring…rin-
‘’Hey, I was just about to call you’’ I said picking up the call from Frank, my financial advisor, who appeared to be calling me right when I was about to call him.
‘’Have you heard the news? Congratulations Hudson! I just got the email’’ he chirped happily on the other end of the line.
‘’Yeah I did just now, but…is it true??’’
