‘’Ready as ever handsome’’ I smiled back, carefully lifting out the hem of my beautiful off-the-shoulder Coco Chanel dress, before stepping my feet down in its gorgeous gold sparkled Moda In Pelle heels onto the smooth paved walkway.
With an excited breath, I took a hold of Hudson’s arm which he’d gentlemanly held out for me to take, and traveled my eyes up at the tall Arctic Club Hotel in downtown Seattle.
‘’Thank you kind Sir’’ said Hudson beeping shut the car door, and handed the keys over to the parking Valet stood by waiting.
So here we were, ready to enter as the guest stars into the hotel's glamorous Northern Lights Dome Room, which Skipp had hired out as the venue for the party he was throwing us that night in our honor. We hadn’t even entered yet and already everything was so beautiful! Far beyond the realms of glamor and anything I would ever imagine giving Skipp credit for. He’s really outdone himself…I thought, an admired smile warming my face, as my fascinated eyes took in the gorgeous feather-vined arch display of the outdoor deco, all beautifully lit with twinkling fairy lights above plush white carpeting, neatly folding up the wide gold banister stairs that led inside the venue. Whatever guilt Skip felt for wanting to throw this party, he certainly had my vote and was more than forgiven.
‘’Not bad huh’’ said Hudson looking around him with an equally admired smile, and leaned down and kissed me softly on the lips, before releasing my hand to smooth his own through his hair.
I smoothed my own down neatly over the elegant evening gown I was wearing, admiring again my pretty French manicured nails I’d had done earlier in the day, against the rich oyster-colored chiffon material that glamorized the overlay of my dress.
I then turned and looked at Hudson, styling it like the king of kings in his matching oyster-colored suit and buttoned-down white shirt, looking and smelling so good in his Paco Rabanne 1 Million perfume, and smoothed back mafia-styled hair.
‘’We make quite the couple don’t you think?’’ he turned and winked at me, and it appeared he too was feeling the pizzazz of the star couple we looked that night.
‘’Names?’’ said the big soldier-looking bouncer minding the door, promptly flipping open his clipboard which I assumed was the guest list as we approached.
‘’Miss Taylor Wainwright and Hudson Avery’’ Hudson said with a warm squeeze of my hand.
‘’Welcome to the party…ole boy’’
Hudson and I both looked at each other, then back again at the bouncer.
‘’Sorry, I was given strict instructions to say exactly that by the blonde British guy who I believe is throwing this party’’
‘’Aah ha ha, makes sense now’’ chuckled Hudson ‘’well, you’re relieved of your duties’’ he grinned.
‘’I hope so, you’re the last to arrive’’ he grinned back.
‘’Well by all means then, do come in and enjoy some of the food and drinks’’ Hudson offered kindly.
‘’Thank you Sir, I may go ahead and sneak a little something out for myself. But after I must return to my post as I’m hired to mind the venue the entire night, as I understand this is an elite private party’’
‘’Well your services are most appreciated’’ smiled Hudson, and I was rather used now to seeing him slipping staff a generous cash tip, one that always rewarded him the biggest smile, from me too.
‘’Wow thank you Sir, thank you so much! And I hope you enjoy the party’’ he beamed, unlinking the rope and opening up the large wooden doors for us to enter.
‘’I’m confident we will, have a good night now’’ Hudson waved.
‘’Have a great night Sir’’ I waved also, and lifted the hem of my dress once again as Hudson and me entered inside the huge Northern Lights Dome Room…
OMG WOW! It was even more stunning inside, with the beautiful feather-vined theme spilling over into the large circular banqueting room, completing in earnest the rich elegance of the tall gold-plated glass ceiling that made up the Dome Room.
There were already so many guests inside, none of which I knew of course, but felt comfortable still as Hudson had briefed me it was a private party, with a guest list of only their private friends, who according to Hudson will apparently all love me the second they meet me.
‘’Don’t be overwhelmed gorgeous, you’re with me’’ Hudson said softly squeezing my hand again and leaning down and kissing me on the cheek.
‘’Oh no no I’m not…okay maybe just a little, but it’s the good kind of overwhelm’’ I smiled up at him. And with another warm squeeze of my hand, we began mingling ourselves among the crowd with head after head turning when noticing our arrival.
Well, if I didn’t feel like a princess before I certainly did now, as I was being fussed over like crazy by just about everyone who approached us, Hudson too. It was easy to understand now how celebrities must feel when walking the red carpet, and in my 15 minutes of fame decided to just go with the flow, and enjoy and have fun.
‘’Oooh, your dress is simply fabulous Taylor! Wherever did you get it?’’
‘’It’s Cocco Channel’’ I told the over-lip-pouting redhead, who I again could see craftily slinking her lusted eyes up at Hudson, and winking when she thought I wasn’t looking. It was like that with pretty much every female that came to greet us, regardless of the male companion they themselves came with. I was lucky however to have Hudson as my male companion, whose eyes never swayed once, only down at me which beautifully warmed my heart.
Clink clink clink!
‘’May I have everyone’s attention please’’
