I don’t know why but I felt like a princess that day, and every day before it too I guess since meeting my knight in shining Armor, Hudson Avery, who I was now very proud to call my prince. I was living the dream. It was my dream. And it had come true in every positive way imagined and more, where for the first time ever I was able to see a real future ahead of me, one with no threat to my happiness, and with someone who both cared for and appreciated me for me.

‘’You okay baby’’ Hudson smiled across at me as we drove.

‘’If I’m with you I’ll always be okay’’ I smiled back across at him.

‘’That’s very sweet beautiful, and thank you. I know I feel the same way for you too’’ he said, and the warm comfort of his words cocooned me the entire ride there, where sleek city buildings and fancy boutiques soon left the road behind us, and we began entering into beautiful fields of picturesque country life, unpolluted by smoggy city traffic, where the enriched scent of evergreen nature was so sweet and fresh it was almost aphrodisic.

I thought back to every night spent sleeping on cold concrete floors across various parts of city streets, forever fantasizing the luxury home I’d one day buy when finally getting myself on my feet. Nothing in my mind’s eye however could conjure the sight coming into close view up ahead, as Hudson slowed the car down and took a smooth left turn onto what looked to be about a 200-acre land of private property.

What in the Buckingham-looking Palace is this place? I wondered, my widened eyes unable to tear themselves away from the three-story high white mansion I could see, privately guarded behind a tall black iron fence with the letters H A fancily embroiled in gold above it. I sat watching in fascinated awe as Hudson took his cell phone out his pocket, and used whatever mechanism installed to impressively open the gates and let us through.

We then continued to drive, now over smooth cream-colored gravel that made up the large wide luxury pathway leading up to the mansion, where decorated side to side was an even layout of elegant miniature street lamps, and a long neat row of freshly soiled red and white flowerbeds on each side.

The centerpiece -reminding me a little of the one outside our hotel, only this was 10 times bigger- stood a grand willow weeping-looking fountain surrounded by thick marble concrete, with the soft-sounding water which flowed from it glistening like crystal magic in the warm sunlight.

I’d sometimes hear Hudson refer to things he found of particular interest as ‘exquisite’, and for lack of a more powerful word in my vocabulary, it was all I could think of to describe the grand view I was ingesting before me.

But yet it still couldn’t be described, not by words alone you had to be there. Only the human eye could soak in the pure beauty that was this place…but what exactly was this place? I still didn’t know.

I wasn’t ready for words just yet though, I wanted to soak my eyes more and take in the beautiful mystery around me. With an elevated breath, I let my eyes travel up slowly taking in every flawless foot of the humongous three-story mansion, from the tall thick glassed double-doors that centered it, to each of the elegantly draped tall framed windows that surrounded it. It was breathtaking! As were its three large balconies, which I imagined gave the most stunning view of the grounds from their vantage point.

Finally around the grounds of the mansion itself, was the gorgeous thick cluster of tall forest trees, looking and smelling just as sweet and evergreen as the ones on the ride up.

It felt like a princess’s dream, one I begrudged ever waking up from.

HUDSON POV:

I smiled giving her a few minutes more to take everything in, with it making me feel rather animated also watching the palpable excitement dance her eyes, as she continued to soak in everything around her.

Not even my voice calling out to her the few times I did was enough to break the happy trance I could see Taylor in, as a soft smile remained upon her lips, and I wondered where the magic of mystery was taking her in her thoughts.

‘’So baby, what do you think?’’ I asked turning the car engine off now and turning in my seat to look at her.

‘’I think either you’re a secret aristocrat and you’ve brought me here to introduce me to your family, or any second now security will arrive to cart us off for trespassing on their property’’

‘’Neither’’ I chuckled ‘’although both would make for a great Downton Abbey spin-off series’’ I teased.

‘’What’s that?’’

‘’Aww never mind sweetheart, we have all the time in the world to catch you up’’ I said with a warm smile across at her ‘’and if I haven’t said it before, I’m proud to be the man at your side when we do’’ I said unbuckling my seatbelt and leaning forward giving her a soft kiss.

‘’I want to enjoy every moment of my new life with you too Hudson. You make me feel safe, and that’s one of the most precious things I treasure about you’’ she said leaning forward and kissing me back with her sweet lips.

‘’You make me feel like a brand new man Taylor’’ I said taking her hand in mine and squeezing it tight making her smile softly ‘’and to answer your question…this is actually my mansion. I bought it with the first few million dollars I made from Tazer, and is now worth on average over ten times more than that’’

‘’Y-you own this mansion??’’ she repeated staring at me wide-eyed.

‘’Yes sweetheart I do, and all the land around it’’ I told her ‘’…truth be told I’ve never taken anyone here before. I believe in keeping some things private. But with you Taylor, with you I want to share my world and everything in it’’

‘’Oh Hudson’’ she said, her light blue eyes watering softly as she looked at me and kissed me again, and I couldn’t be happier knowing I’d graced time and patience and brought the only person here I want to share the rest of my life with.

‘’Come on beautiful, let’s get you inside and show you around’’ I said, excitedly exiting the car and making my way around to Taylor’s side like a gentleman to let her out. With her arm snugly draped over mine, we took our time walking up the mansion steps and into my luxury secret home…
