Moving into action, Addison swept the smaller man’s legs out from under him, sending him crashing to the ground.

Hawk grabbed the wrist of the large man and twisted. The knife dropped. Addison kicked it away. Hawk continued twisting his arm until it was behind his back, then he applied an arm bar to force the man to the ground, facedown.

Hawk pulled his Glock. “Do. Not. Move.”

A few in the crowd screamed when they saw Hawk’s gun.

The smaller man started to get up.

“No,” Addison bit out. “On your stomach.”

The slight man lay back down.

“Don’t touch me,” said the larger man.

“Stay down,” Hawk bit out. “Tony, get the cops here.” Hawk glanced around at the expanding crowd of spectators. “Guys, you gotta clear out.”

Tony jogged over, phone to his ear. “Cops are on the way.”

Hawk nodded in acknowledgment, his gun pointed toward both men.

“Move everyone away,” Hawk instructed his bouncer.

The police arrived, took Hawk and Addison’s statements, then hauled both men away.

As they made their way toward the front door, Hawk slid his fingers around Addison’s arm, appreciating her striated muscles. A small arm that packed a lot of strength. He pulled her aside, peered down at her.

“Nice job,” he said.

“You, too, partner,” she replied.

He stepped closer. “You look scorching hot, baby. I can’t wait peel that off you.”

She pushed onto her toes. “Me, too.”

Her gaze drilled into his, the blackness of her pupils bleeding into her light eyes. All he could see, all he cared about, was the woman standing inches away. Somehow, she’d broken through his guarded exterior and had curled her way around his soul.

They came together in a tender kiss. Her lips curved, her sigh floating in the air between them.

They went inside, Liliana hurried over. “What happened?”

“A fight,” Hawk replied.

“Over a woman,” Addison added.

Liliana slid her gaze from one to the other. “Who won?”

“Neither,” Hawk replied.

“Was it a blood bath?” Liliana asked.

Addison smiled. “No.”

With a gleam in her eye, Liliana said, “Those are always the most fun.” She winked, then returned behind the bar.

“I’m going to find those women and sign them up,” Addison said.

“You don’t care that I had sex with them?” Hawk asked.
