“I won’t bite you.”
“No, but you might kiss me.”
“Relax, woman, that’s not happening.” He hugged her close. “We’re just celebrating our new partnership.”
She wrapped her arms around his neck as they started swaying and moving to the sensual beat. The vibe was chill. As he held her in his arms, he thought about their sexy kiss. Then, his imagination jumped to their naked bodies moving as one, his on hers, while theyreallygot to know each other.
“Yo, there’s the motherfucker who knocked the wind outta me,” the guy from earlier glared over at Hawk.
Ah, fuck.
“What’s he talking about?” Addison asked as the man pushed his way toward them.
Hawk’s instinct was to stand in front of Addison, to block her in case the guy was gonna swing another punch. But that would be a bonehead move on his part. Addison could defend herself.
“We got into a thing outside,” Hawk murmured.
Addison broke from Hawk, addressed the guy. “I’m Addison. What’s your name?”
“Motherfucker.”
“This is my club and I’ve never had a fight here,” she said. “Don’t ruin my streak. Can we talk outside?”
The guy glared at Hawk. “He said he owns the club.”
“He’s my business partner,” Addison said. “I don’t want to ask you to leave, so can we play nice?”
“Lemme deck him and we’ll call it even,” the guy replied.
Liliana had lowered the music, and a crowd had formed around them. If a fight broke out, mayhem would ensue. Someone would get hurt. The police would get called.
Hawk wanted to shut this shit down, but he wasn’t gonna jump in. Addison was handling it.
She fisted her hands on her hips. “My patience is running out. Either you walk away and enjoy your evening inmyclub or I haul your ass out.”
The guy laughed as he gave her the once-over. “You? Haul my ass out? You’re a tiny thing, honey.”
She pointed toward the front door. “You gotta go.”
When the patron wouldn’t move, she grabbed his arm. He yanked it away.
Hawk flicked his gaze to Addison. “Ready?”
She nodded once.
They each grabbed one of his arms and strode toward the door. He freed himself from Addison, but couldn’t escape Hawk’s vice grip. When the clubber went to swing at her, she blocked his punch, then swept her leg under his feet, forcing him to the floor.
Together, they picked him up and escorted him out.
“Don’t come back,” Addison said in the parking lot. “You aren’t welcome.”
“Go to hell,” the guy hollered.
Back inside, Addison jumped on the bar. “Most of you have met me by now. I’m Addison and this is my club. I’ve got a new biz partner. That’s Hawk.”
He flashed a wave.
“Everyone having a good time?” she asked.
