K: …Way to ruin my mood by mentioning his name.

I shook my head at the phone like Kai could see. My lip curled up, and a nervous energy washed over me as an idea came to me. Hitting the little camera, I lifted the T-shirt and struck a sexy pose. This felt ridiculous, but I gave him my best pout while my fingers splayed over my nipple like I’d been playing with them. Snapping the photo, I stared at my image and could admit it looked hot. I still felt silly, but before I lost my nerve, I pushed send.

K: Oh fuck! Hello! Okay, I want those fucking sexy lips of yours wrapped around my cock.

R: Will that hold you over until I get there?

K: What? You’re leaving me like this. You’re terrible.

R: Gotta keep you coming back somehow. LOL!

K: I will take a dirty photo from you anytime, but Tink, I’ll always come back to you, sexy photos or not. TTYL

R: LV U

K: LVU2

I had to blink back tears as I read those four little letters that gripped my throat. I couldn’t stop staring at them. I felt each word like they were branded on my soul.

I turned on the taps and splashed cool water on my heated face before I finished up in the bathroom and tackled my main obstacle for the day. How do I get my job back and not sound like a flake or an asshole?

Opening the door, I screamed as Jace picked me up and sat me on the counter. “Geez us Jace, you scared the shit out of me,” I said as he smiled and stood between my legs. “And get the smile off your face. I can’t right now. I have things I need to do today.”

“Yeah, like me,” he said, kissing the side of my neck.

I glared at him as Avro laughed from somewhere in the bedroom. I peered around Jace to see Avro making the bed. I wish I had his affinity for neatness. Jace pressed forward, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t stop myself from looking down at the large tent in his boxers. My hands went to his waist, and he groaned. The sound made me squirm. It wasn’t fair that they were so tempting. I mean, it wasn’t really a hardship to stay in bed and fuck them all day.

“Fuck you smell good, and I love you in Avro’s boxers.” I laughed.

“Yes, super stylish of me,” I said.

“I got them as a gift for him, but they look better on you.”

“I heard that,” Avro called out.

“I swear he has superhero hearing,” Jace whispered, making me giggle as he tickled my ear with his breath.

“I need to get my job back before he hires another manager,” I said.

“Too late,” Avro said and came to stand in the doorway. Jace waved his hand in his direction.

“Go away. I’m trying to convince her to come back to bed,” Jace said. I hadn’t seen this lighthearted teasing much from Jace, and I really liked it. He was a very complex personality, but puzzles were something I always enjoyed playing with.

“Who did Chris hire?” Avro cocked an eyebrow. “Shit, I totally forgot that I told him to hire you. Sorry, I should’ve remembered that.”

“Yes, and you have an interview for your new position today. I might even let you in my new office.” Avro smiled as I swore under my breath.

“See, lots of time to come back to bed,” Jace said. “Would it make a difference if I told you that I have to fly out tomorrow for a few days?”

“Ohhh laying it on thick with the guilt, are we?” I leaned back on the counter and braced myself on my hands.

“Fuck look at this,” he said and slid his hands up the shorts. I smacked at his hands, but he continued until he could grip my hips, his thumbs tracing the inside of my thighs.

“Stop it you. Is he always like this,” I asked Avro, who was smirking.

“Worse, actually. I kinda enjoy his trips for work, or I’d be stuck in bed all day with a sore ass.”

Jace laughed and looked over his shoulder. “True story, but you love it.”
