“I had a splendid time, too.”
“Good.” I reach over to my carry-on, hoping to get my book out and distract myself from the process of taking off when Olivia surprises me again.
“I noticed you are not great with take-offs and landings.”
I laugh nervously. “And here I was, thinking I was hiding it well.”
She winks at me. “You are. I am just really observant. I could get you a mimosa to take the edge off.”
“Really?”
“Yes.”
I smile appreciatively at her. “Thank you so much.”
“You’re welcome.”
I settle back down in my seat, waiting for my drink, and my next adventure.
Chapter 4
The Pilot and the Passenger
Jackson
AsI’mgoingthroughmy pre-flight checks, Olivia walks into the cockpit with a mimosa in hand.
“Isn’t it a little early for drinks?”
“Not for me. Amber’s having a rough time.”
At the mention of her name, I perk up. “Everything okay?”
“Takeoff. I noticed she was struggling. I know something else that could help though?” she says suggestively.
I look up at her. “Liv. She is still our client.”
“No. Get your head out of the bloody gutter, bloke. That was not what I meant at all. I already got laid anyway.”
“You did? When?”
“Last night.”
“Liv! Who?”
“Tracy.”
I smile conceitedly at the mischievous grin on her face. “And Tracy would be…”
“The receptionist!”
“Liv!” I admonish her. “C’mon.” But I can’t help but laugh.
“Just because you want to live like a monk doesn’t mean I do. Okay? Now, are you ready for my brilliant plan?”
I shake my head not at all sure what to expect.
“She could come up here.”
