Sloan

You owe me dinner?

My smile was wild. I cursed the things that woman did to me, then took a second to think about everything I wanted to do to her.

Me

I do

Me

Saturday, 7. My place.

This back and forth was agonizingly gratifying, but it needed to end. If she wanted to be caught, I was going to catch her. And I was never letting go.

Sloan

I’ll bring the wine

Me

I’m cutting you off after two glasses

Sloan

I thought I was a perfect lady

Me

That’s what I’m trying to avoid

CHAPTER28

Sloan

Giddy.

School girl level giddy.

I knew I was supposed to keep whatever the fuck was going on with Marcus a secret. But I couldn’t contain the sheer exhilaration from my non-stop texting with him, especially when Penelope kept catching me doing it. It was nearly constant, through meetings, strategy sessions, everything.

I couldn’t focus. And I didn’t want to.

All I wanted was to drown in that feeling.

“Ooh, saucy.” Penelope leaned over my shoulder and saw the latest texts. She was invested in us getting together after reviewing almost every text that came through. “Flirting, inside jokes...I might venture to guess someone is having some sex this weekend.”

Finally.

An excited gasp escaped me at the thought, and my office filled with our laughter.

Saturday night finally arrived, and I spent more time than I’d like to admit trying to figure out what to wear. The one thing I was sure about was the red lace La Perla set that I had waffled over packing.

My mind raced over what was to come.

The thought was enough to send excited shivers down my spine. If the months of foreplay were any indication, the sex would destroy me in the best way.
