“She is lucky, it could have been a lot worse than it was. Minor concussion, whiplash, some scrapes and bruises, and her shoulder will be extremely sore for a couple of days so she should take it easy. Also, is there someone she can stay with, or someone who can stay with her?”
“Me. I’ll be staying with her.”
“Okay, just keep an eye on her. If her symptoms don’t start to ease, get her to a doctor.”
“Can I take her home?”
“I want to keep her for a few hours for observation and just make sure there wasn’t anything missed. You should be able to take her home later tonight.”
“Is there anything you can do for her head? She was saying that it was pounding earlier.” He nodded.
“I will get the nurse to bring her in something. Just let her rest for now.”
“Thank you, Doctor.” After making a few notes, he left the room quietly, and I laid my head back down.
“I can get Dallas to come and stay with me.”
“Not happening, Duchess. You are coming to mine with me, or I am coming to yours. Either way, I am not letting you out of my sight.”
“You will have to go to work eventually. You have clients.”
“Gabby is taking care of the shop right now. If there is anything urgent then I will go in but until then, just rest.”
“There is no arguing this is there?”
“Nope, so there is no point trying.” She let out a small sigh and muttered something under her breath.
A couple of hours later, Ally was asleep when there was a quiet knock on the door. I looked over as it opened and saw Cash stepping inside. I raised a brow, surprised to see him back here.
“Hey.”
“Hey, I just came to check to see how she is.”
“Extremely lucky. Mild concussion from where she hit her head, her shoulder from the seat belt, whiplash, and some cuts and bruises. She will be sore for a few days but we both know how bad it could have been.” He nodded.
“Do you guys need anything?”
“Thanks, but we are all good. Dallas is stopping by her place later to pick some clothes up for her. Just waiting on the doctor to give her the all clear to go home.”
“I see everyone is quick to forgive her then.” He muttered under his breath. I pretended I couldn’t hear him for now. “Is she staying with Dallas and Tye?”
“No, why would she be? She is staying with me.” I looked over to make sure she was still asleep, then stood up and pointed to the door. I wasn’t about to fight with her in a hospital bed, and if he wanted to start shit, I was done with him. I turned to look at him. “Whatever it is, please don’t start. Glad to see you aren’t changing your colors just because she is in hospital and that you are just a dick.” He put his hands up.
“I wasn’t starting anything! I genuinely just came to see if she was okay.”
“Sounds like it, with your snarky comments. Look it would be so easy to hold onto the past and not forgive her for walking away, but I would rather let go of all the shit and enjoy having my girl back.”
“You were going to marry her though!”
“I still am, one day and I would hope as my family that you could be supportive about that. If you can’t though, don’t look for an invitation because there won’t be one. You are lucky enough to still be with the love of your life. You had it easy. Beau and I haven’t. Although, his worked out for the best because he is happier with Belle than he ever was with Bianca, but I am getting a second chance with mine so please, just be happy for us.”
“I just can’t trust that she won’t leave again. She has done it once, there is nothing to stop her doing it again. I can’t clean up the mess in her wake again, I’m sorry.”
“Cash, if she leaves again, it will be because she no longer feels welcome here. That said, I will be going with her this time though. I am not stupid enough to let her walk away without a fight this time. There won’t be any mess to clean up like the last time. I am begging you, for me, will you just let it go? I am tired of fighting with you over this. If you won’t do it for me, do it for Ma and Pops. They don’t need us at each other’s throat.” The door behind me opened, and I turned to see Ally standing there. I was about to fuss about her being out of bed when she should be resting but her eyes were on Cash.
“You can either be happy for us or you can leave now and not come back. If you have any other questions for me, send someone else because I won’t be speaking to you in any capacity. The drama ends here though.”
“Felix will be in touch if we have any more questions.” That was all he said before he walked away. Shaking my head, I turned and gently wrapped my arms around Ally.
