Wolf waitedin his office for Levi to return. Rex opened the door, and Levi stepped inside. Levi quickly wiped tears off his cheeks before he sat in the guest chair in front of the desk. Wolf nodded at Rex for him to leave.

When they were alone, Wolf asked, “Why did you slash Diego’s tires, Levi?”

“This isn’t fair. Why doeshehave to be here?”

Wolf was quiet for a moment. “I know you’re upset—”

“I hate him, Dad.”

“That doesn’t mean you can misbehave.”

Levi scoffed. “He kidnapped me. You can’t expect me to accept him. He’s not my friend. He’s anenemy. But you don’t care.”

It hurt Wolf that Levi assumed he didn’t care about him, but Wolf knew it was going to be difficult to make Levi think otherwise. He’d have to give Levi time to cope with the kidnapping. But in the meantime, Wolf didn’t want Levi to mess with Diego. The gang leader was bigger and stronger, and Wolf didn’t want Levi to get into a physical fight with Diego. The only person who could protect Levi was Wolf, and he would take necessary measures.

“I know you’re afraid of Diego, and you’re angry at him. But I won’t allow him to hurt you. Fighting him will not change a thing, and your behavior was unacceptable. So I’m grounding you for a week. Give me your phone.”

Levi looked like he wanted to resist. Wolf waited for his son to complain, but after a moment, Levi pulled the device from his pocket and put it on the desk. Levi then stood and walked to the door.

“Dinner will be ready soon. Get cleaned up and join us,” Wolf said.

Levi stopped and looked at Wolf, a frown on his face. Then, without a word, he left the office.

They satat the dining table in silence. Diego stabbed a fork through the steak on his plate and sliced it open with a knife. Wolf had mentioned wanting to wait for Levi before they ate, but five minutes was enough time. Diego was starving. “Is he coming or what?”

“He’s sulking,” Wolf said.

“Hmph. He’s a brat.”

“Look who’s talking.”

Diego narrowed his eyes at Wolf. “He fucked up my tires.”

“I’ll have them replaced,” Wolf said, setting his napkin on the table.

“He’s like a mini-you trying to punish me all over again.”

“He’s jealous of you.”

“Jealous?” Diego raised a brow. “Why?”

“He knows there’s something going on between us.”

Diego drank slowly from his wineglass, watching Wolf.

“I want you to talk with Levi.”

Diego almost choked on his wine. He cleared his throat and set the glass on the table. “You want me to talk withyourson?” he asked in disbelief. “Why the hell would you want that?”

Wolf exhaled. “Levi needs to accept what happened to him. He needs to move on. That’s why I want you to talk with him.”

“Not gonna happen.”

“Diego.”
