“That easy, huh?” Jared rubs his dick, and I glare at him as he chuckles, relaxing into the seat again. “We’re done. Go back to work.”

I snatch my bra off the floor, fastening it on while promptly leaving the room. My shift’s over in an hour, but I’m already clocked out in my mind, heading straight to the dressing room.

* * *

The phone rings a few times, goes to voicemail, and I frown. Sadie didn’t pick up a shift today, and Kylo usually ends his sessions before noon. Maybe she’s spent after an exhausting weekend of wild sex—I’m going with that, the only acceptable excuse for not answering. I smirk, then sigh. Sadie deserves all the pampering to decompress from her ever-wandering state of mind because of her stalker ex-husband, who can’t come to terms with the fact she no longer wishes to be in contact with him.

My phone lights up with her name, and I grin, answering Sadie’s video call right away. “Hey, sexy lady. How did the experience go?”

“Um, it’s still going.”

“What?” Sadie goes off-screen as Jinx jumps onto her lap, getting a view of her surrounding area before she comes back. “Are you… you’re still with Kylo?” I whisper, and she nods.

“A week.”

“No way. How did you get him to agree to a week?”

“I didn’t. It was his idea.”

This time my jaw drops. “Wow. Out of the five years I’ve been working with Kylo, he hasn’t taken me or any of his clients beyond the two days he agreed, and he let you bring a cat. He must be very intrigued indeed.” I wiggle my eyebrows, and she snorts a laugh, one thing we both have in common.

“Stop it.” She grins, then it slowly falls into a smirk. “He said my request was new to him, and he needed more than two days to achieve my goal.”

“Which is…”

Sadie presses her lips together and tilts her head to the side while rubbing Jinx’s head. She’s about to speak before Kylo’s voice sounds in the distance. I should let her go.

“I’m heading home. Call me tomorrow…or don’t,” I say, giving her a wink, then hang up after blowing her a kiss.

If the glow on top of her flushed cheeks says anything, it’s Sadie’s having a good time, and I feel Kylo’s got other plans up his sleeve. They would be good for each other, and I hope they explore one another further. Though I may lose my confidant, Sadie’s peace of mind is more important.

Home isn’t far from Vivid, so I’m parking in my driveway several minutes later. I close my eyes, trying to reset my mind after tonight, until a call breaks through the silence, and I answer, “Hey, Dad.”

“Hey, glad I caught you tonight.”

“Yeah, I’m just getting home.”

“Long day?” he asks, already knowing my answer.

“When isn’t it?”

Dad chuckles, then sighs, and I do the same. “How are you, baby girl? Job’s still working you to the bone?”

I chew on my bottom lip, hating he has no idea I’m a Red Vixen, but he’d be disappointed if he knew—if he found out about everything Gin brought me into behind his back. “Yep. Drinks won’t serve themselves.”

He hums, the line staying quiet for a moment, and I glance at the time before he says, “Let me not keep you from the rest of your night. I just wanted to hear your voice before settling into bed.”

“Dad, you can call me at any time. You’re never a bother.”

“Good to know. I love you. I miss you, and we’ll talk soon.”

An ache forms in my chest. “Yeah, love you too. Night.”

The call ends, and I close my eyes, even further away from gathering myself, so I head inside instead. Running on autopilot, I close the front door of my home and lean on the wooden surface, glancing around the expansive living area.

My brain processes that every curtain is open, my neighbors visible on both ends of the room, but I slowly strip each article of clothing from my body, unfazed by the fact people could be watching. A chill creates goosebumps along my skin, but I feel nothing. Numb, deep to the bone. Some may say it’s great to have self-confidence, but I’m so far gone, completely desensitized, that I couldn’t care less if people see me nude.

My body no longer belongs to me.
