Warmth spread through her, and a smile spread across her face. “That sounds nice.”

His lips found hers again in a sweet kiss before he hopped off the bed and pulled her up with him.

Jace knocked on the front door, laughter drifting outside.

Maddie pulled the door open and smiled at him. “Welcome to my humble abode.”

He stepped forward and immediately rested a hand on her hip and pressed a quick kiss to her lips.

“Hello,” he whispered against her mouth.

“Hello,” she whispered back. “Can I take your coat?” she asked once they pulled apart.

Jace pulled his jacket off and handed it to her. “Of course. Thank you.”

She hung it on the rack next to the others and reached out to take his hand, but dropped it before it got there, suddenly looking shy.

He smiled and took hers, rubbing his thumb over her knuckles. A blush crept up her neck, but the smile she gave him was enough to make his evening. Voices sounded from down the hall and she tugged him in that direction, but he gave some resistance, pulling her back to him.

“Wait, I need to give you something.”

“What’s that?” she asked.

He bent down, and their lips were mere inches apart. Her eyes flickered between his and his lips. He shortened the distance and pressed his lips to hers, tasting something salty on her tongue. She moaned lightly and wrapped her arms around his neck, completely relaxing into him.

Her small frame fit perfectly against him, and he didn’t miss the way her body pressed into his when they kissed. It was fucking incredible.

The thought of asking her to go off to her room for a quickie crossed his mind, but he stopped himself. They were about to hang out with her friends, and he didn’t need them seeing him as a playboy like the tabloids made him out to be.

His mind flashed back to the night when they had sex for the first time, and all the nights since then. And suddenly, he didn’t care if everyone thought of him as a playboy. He pulled back and pressed his forehead against hers, closing his eyes, considering carrying her off to her bedroom.

“That was nice,” she whispered, not making any effort to move.

“It was,” he said. As much as he wanted to stay that way, Jace heard a few voices in the other room asking where Maddie went.

“I think they’re looking for you.”

Maddie pulled back and took his hand in hers.

“Let’s go before they look for us and find me mounting you on the staircase.”

He groaned as his dick suddenly stood to attention. He brushed her hand along his cock and growled low in her ear, “Not cool.”

She stifled a laugh as they walked into the living room. The room looked smaller now, with several more people in it.

“Hey Jace,” Kayla called from the small kitchen, where she was stirring something in a bowl.

“Hey Kayla, Robert.” He nodded his head at the two of them.

Jace had no relationship with Robert except for the fact that he was an employee of his. It was something he tried to avoid doing. He wanted to be friends with his employees but knew that it could make for a muddied relationship later when he had to be their boss. Haley and Seth were the exception. Robert didn’t seem to be one that he could avoid seeing as he was dating Kayla, so he embraced it, hoping it wouldn’t create issues later.

“Jace, this is Kailynn, my boss, and her boyfriend, Chase,” Maddie said.

“Oh, come on now. I’m not just your boss,” Kailynn said, standing up and shaking Jace’s hand. “It’s nice to meet you.”

Maddie laughed. “Oh. I’m sorry. My bad. This is Kailynn, my friend, who also happens to be my boss. Is that better?”
