“And?”

“Corey, what are you asking?” I ask with irritation. “Do you want to know if he was able to get me off? What about if he made me come more times than you have? How about if he made me squirt?”

“Well,” he replies calmly, “I’d love to know the answer to each of those questions. I’m all for you being with him, Sunshine. I just don’t want his involvement with you affecting my relationship with you.”

I turn back toward Corey, and I’m immediately met with a look of confidence and comfort. Like, he’s in his element, ready to discuss his presumed girlfriend’s sexcapades with his best friend. Nothing of jealousy or malcontent. I’m so confused that I just sit there for a second.

“Are you asking if he satisfied me, Corey?”

“Well, yeah, but I also know a little about him, and I want to make sure you’re ok. I know he… has issues. He doesn’t entertain women a lot, and while I don’t know the exact reasons, I know that there is an issue, and I just want to make sure you’re okay.”

When he glances at me and our eyes connect, I see the love. I know he told me he loved me, and I him, but something about this moment makes it real. “Yes, I’m ok,” I breathe. “I’m more than okay, to be honest. He and I have a connection, similar to, but different from, you and me. Bast cares for me in a way that allows me to give up control because he needs it. And while I needed control with you, being with Bast has made me ‘see the light’ about being able to give up control. I’m really enjoying the ability to trust those around me and not feel responsible for everything that happens.”

The bright smile that Corey responds with warms my heart. “I get you, Sunshine,” he says confidently. “I understand what you mean, and I’m glad things are working out. I want to preface, if you ever want to include him in anything with ‘us’, I’m ok with it. To be honest, he caught us a couple of weeks ago, and I didn’t realize it until after. When I did, it was hot as hell.”

“Realize what?” I ask, uncertain of what he’s referring to.

“Remember when you woke me up that morning we spent the night in Bast’s basement?”

“Yeah? That was our first time doing anything since Halloween.”

“Yeah. That’s right. You insisted on sucking my cock like the fucking goddess you are. I will forever remember that morning.”

The blush that creeps up my neck is stifling when the heat in Corey’s truck is already so warm. I’m just glad he remembers it fondly, as I was so awkward that morning. I felt I had to do something to keep him interested in me, and that seemed like the least threatening action at the time.

“I’m glad. At that moment, I was so sca – wait. What about that?”

“Well, do you remember the video I took of you? Fuck, I can remember it. I watched it just the other day…”

“You did?” I raise an eyebrow at him, waiting for him to continue.

“Fucking hell, I sure did. That video was hot as fuck. That’s in my saved, hidden folder,” he says, a huge grin on his face.

I narrow my eyes, beyond tired at this point. He doesn’t usually play games with me. “What about it, Corey?”

“Oh, uh, well, Bast saw that – I mean, he was in the hallway that morning. He has a slight voyeuristic tendency, so hereallyenjoyed that part.”

The image appears in my mind of myself on all fours, naked like the day I was born, sucking Corey’s dick like I’ve done nothing else, ever. And the fact that Bast watched – that makes me nervous.

“Sunshine, it was hot as hell. That’s what spurred me to insist Bast talk to you. I knew at that point he needed to, and I knew you would at least hear him out.”

I sigh. “I can see that. Just knowing someone saw me like that, without me knowing, makes me feel a little vulnerable. I’m not mad, it’s just… something I have to work through. On my own.”

I grow quiet, thinking of everything that has happened over the last few weeks. I feel like I’m struggling, but I also feel happier than I’ve ever been. And I’m not sure how it all adds up, but I’m ready for a break in life.

About an hour later, we finally make it to the cabin. The last leg of the journey was a bit of a trek through a mountain trail, but I’m thankful Corey brought me. His truck was able to make the trip. The scenery was spectacular, with clearings and views for miles. Luckily, the weather has cleared slightly. While it’s overcast, at least it isn’t raining or actively snowing. I’m thankful Corey put the snow chains on prior to the mountain trails, though.

Climbing the last hill, we pull into a clearing in front of a large cabin. At least, it is large by my standards. It looks almost like a regular house-sized building, but with a large, wrap-around porch and a fire pit with a seating area. It’s an absolutely picturesque scene, and I can feel my smile broaden as we park. We exit, and both of us circle around to the tailgate, grabbing our gear from the back. Corey leads the way into the cabin, not even bothering to knock. I walk in behind him, and we’re hit with a delicious aroma that is distinctlynotThanksgiving scented. My stomach growls loud enough for Corey to hear, and he turns back to me, chuckling.

“Okay, tiger, settle down. We’ll get you some food.”

Bast snickers from the couch, but he immediately stands to help us settle in. As he approaches me, my heart begins to flutter, which is crazy. Why do I still have reactions like this to him? I shake the distraction from my head and grin up at him as he draws close.

“Hi,” I murmur with a smile, encouraging him to lead the interaction.

“Hey. Sorry I disappeared the other night, but I needed to get home. My sister twisted her ankle at cheer practice, and my mom was freaking out for no reason.” He wraps his arms around my waist, pulling me in close to him. Bast’s familiar cedar wood and amber scent wraps around me, pulling memories from my mind, and the effect tumbles into a slow burn in between my thighs, completely melting me in his arms. When Corey steps up behind me though, I startle out of the daze Bast has lured me into.
