“They are both too important to me, I can’t lose them!” I said.
“I understand—”
“No! Or you would help me stop them!” I said.
Lara sighed, and then seemed to think it over before she looked at the fight again. Damon had gotten Gabriel beneath him and was punching him in the face, but Gabriel quickly switched them around and was now on top.
“What can we do?!” Lara asked.
I wasn’t sure. I had no idea how to help without risking getting caught in the middle, but then it was like an idea came to mind. I grabbed Lara’s hand.
“I got an idea!” I said.
I tried walking past Dominic, but he stopped us.
“Wow, where are you two going?!” he asked me.
“Just keep an eye on them and make sure they don’t kill each other!” I told him.
Dominic didn’t move though.
“Please!”
“Dominic, move!” Lara said.
He looked hesitant, but since it was his mate who had given him a command, he could not help but listen, and he quickly moved out of the way, as I pulled Lara with me.
“Where are we going?!” she asked me.
“Back to the office!”
“Why?!”
“Because we are going to look for my brother’s gun!” I said.
“Why?!” she asked again.
I pulled us into the office, and then let go of her.
“Start looking. He dropped it somewhere in here.”
The office was a mess. Books everywhere and papers, and chairs had been knocked over and the king’s desk had been pushed to the side. It was a wonder that the windows hadn’t been smashed too. I quickly started to search the office though, and Lara did too.
“What are you going to do with it? Shoot someone?” she asked.
I smiled a little but shook my head.
“No, just stop this craziness!” I said.
“By shooting someone?”
I shook my head again and was about to answer her when I saw the gun lying under a big fat brown book. I removed it and smiled, as I held the gun in my hand.
“I got it!” I shouted.
I turned to Lara, who smiled.
“And now what?” she asked.
