"I just wanted ... I just wanted to enjoy my time with you for as long as I could," I whispered.

"What?!" he asked.

I looked down.

"You never believed we could be together, did you?" he asked.

"I know my brother," I said. "He will never accept us."

Gabriel shook his head and then pushed me back a little before fixing his pants.

"Well, I am not letting him take you away," Gabriel said.

"Wait! Gabriel!" I shouted.

Gabriel easily lifted me onto my own seat, and then he was out of the car. I quickly left the car too and followed right after him.

"Gabriel please!" I said as I tried keeping up with him, but he was already in the house, where Damon had disappeared to.

I ran inside. I could already hear yelling and shouting.

"My sister has disappeared!" I heard my brother yell.

I followed the voices, going upstairs, and all the way to the king's office, where my brother was standing, and it was clear Gabriel had just arrived because Damon wasn't even looking at him yet, but then when Dominic looked at me, everyone turned to me as well. Even Lara was here.

"What the fuck are you doing?!" Damon asked him.

"Get out of my fucking way!" he growled.

"You're not taking her," he said.

"Gabriel ..." I whispered, but he didn't even look at me.

"What? Of course, I am! She is my sister, and she has got some explaining to do!" he said and looked at me.

I looked down, not able to look him in the eyes.

"What are you even doing here, Damon?" I whispered.

"What am I doing here?!" he asked.

I nodded a little but couldn't look at him.

"My sister has been gone for days! Should I not be worried?" he asked me.

"I'm fine ..."

"I can see that," he said. "But why didn't you tell me where you were?!"

I bit my lower lip, not sure what to tell him. I couldn't tell him the truth, because I knew how he would react. I knew what he would say ... but what else could I tell him? He would find out the truth no matter what.

"Damon ... I ..."
