“Gear,” he said and pointed to the gearstick, before going down all the letters and what they stood for. “We’re in park right now, so it isn’t going anywhere.”

I nodded, listening to everything he told me, and where the break and speeder were. I could barely contain my excitement, and when he finally told me to back out of the driveway, I was shaking, but not in a bad way.

“I can’t believe I’m doing this!” I said.

We were going slower than a fucking turtle, as I backed out of the driveway, but Gabriel didn’t seem to care. He was just watching me and everything I was doing with such a happy look in his eyes.

“You got this, Valeri,” he told me.

We drove out of the gate, and he told me to keep an eye out for other cars, but it was rather quiet here at night, luckily. Perfect for my first lesson. Then we were finally on the road, and he told me to remove it from reverse and put it into drive. We weren’t going very fast at all, but my heart was still ready to jump out of my chest as I drove down the road.

“This is amazing!” I shouted.

Gabriel just laughed and continued to watch me with those adoring eyes. I loved it. No one had looked at me like that before, and I ate it right up. It made me feel braver, and I drove a little faster and faster before he told me we should try and turn around and go the other way. I was pretty scared about making the turn and slowed down to turtle speed, but it didn’t matter. This was something I would always remember.

We drove around for a little while, just up and down the road, having the time of our life, or at least the time of my life. I knew Gabriel probably didn’t find this as exciting as me, but I was so happy that I couldn’t even put it into words.

When we finally drove back to the house and I parked the car, I didn’t even turn it off before I was on Gabriel, straddling him and kissing him hard.

“Well, I can see I should take you out driving some more,” he leaned back and said.

“Oh definitely,” I said and kissed him again, my tongue seeking into his mouth and tangling with his as they began a heated dance, and I slowly rocked my hips back and forth, seeking more friction.

“Dammit, sweetheart,” he growled deeply, as I felt him get hard for me.

I smiled smugly.

“What? You want me,” I said breathlessly.

“You know I fucking do,” he said and started to kiss his way down my neck.

“What’s stopping you?” I asked.

He leaned back a little and looked at me.

“I don’t want you to feel pressured,” he said. “After everything.”

“I understand,” I said. “But it’s my choice.”

He smiled and brushed some of my hair away.

“You’re right,” he said.

I smiled, hoping this meant we would be going back to his bedroom. I leaned closer to kiss him when suddenly I saw someone walking out of the house. I turned my head and so did Gabriel. It was the third hybrid Ace. He seemed to freeze, looking right at us, but I wasn’t sure if he could see us. All the windows were tinted, and it wasn’t easy to see through, but I had a feeling he was staring at us. He quickly looked away though and walked out of there.

“Is he okay?” I asked.

Gabriel sighed and I turned to him, seeing the strange look on his face.

“Not really.”

“What’s going on?” I asked.

Gabriel looked down and I had a feeling he was keeping something from me.

“Gabriel?”

I leaned back and crossed my arms.
