“What?”
“You said, you don’t want any more games, fine, I will give you the truth,” I said.
“What truth?” she asked.
“You, sweetheart, are my mate, and there is no one I want more than you. You have always been whom I wanted, and I have been searching for you for a long time,” I told her.
Valeri continued to stare at me shocked, not able to form any words, and it made me smile. Damn, she was beautiful.
Chapter 10
-Valeri-
I was his … what now?
I continued to look at Gabriel, my brain not able to understand his words. It kept telling me he was lying, or it was another one of his tricks, but then I thought over our meeting tonight, and how I had felt drawn to him, how good he smelled, but of course, I had not been close to a lot of males throughout my time. Maybe he was just good looking, and my libido was talking for me. Yes, I couldn’t fall into his tricks. I had to stay strong.
“That’s not funny,” I said.
“Does it look like I am joking?” he asked and sounded so damn serious, that I didn’t know what to think.
“Don’t you like jokes?”
“I love them,” he said. “But this time I am completely serious.”
“How am I to believe that?” I asked.
He thought over my question, thinking of a way to make me believe it when suddenly he pressed me to the door again, and his warm and soft lips pressed against mine. I gasped shocked, and his tongue slid inside, tangling with mine. I couldn’t think, and I didn’t want to.
I just melted, and a little moan escaped me, as powerful feelings spread through my body. Feelings I had never experienced before and never thought I would. Damn, he tasted good too. A little bit of alcohol though, but not so it overpowered everything. No, he just had the hint of it, making the kiss a little spicier. He released my hands, and I quickly wrapped my arms around his neck, as his came around my body, his hands now resting on my ass and squeezing lightly as he pulled me closer.
“I want you, Valeri,” he breathed against my lips before he continued to kiss me hard. “Very fucking much. I have never wanted anyone like you.”
I wanted to believe him. I really did, but, how could I? He had a certain reputation, and sadly … so did I, and it was not a good one. I was pretty much damaged goods, and I couldn’t believe anyone would want anyone like me.
“Say you want me too,” he pulled back and whispered.
I looked at him, wanting to say those exact words because he made me feel more alive than I ever had. My body was all hot and tingly begging for more of what he could give me.
“I …”
He watched me with heated dark eyes, that seemed to stare right into my very fucking soul. It made me feel so damn vulnerable, but I didn’t hate it.
“I … want …”
Just then I heard someone walking this way. Gabriel and I looked towards the door that led into the hallway, and I knew he had heard the steps too.
“My brother!” I whispered.
“He is still up?”
“You need to go!” I said and pushed him away.
“Only if you promise to meet me,” he said.
“What?!”
“You heard me.”
