ROGUE
“They’re in there,” Code said in their ears as they all waited in the abandoned building next to the hotel. Rogue stood with Savage, Fury, Jax, Snake, Ice, Steel, and Trax in the middle of the old run-down room, carefully looking out the semi-boarded up windows towards the hotel. A hotel that had had a few deliveries this morning, but that was it. Everything else was quiet.
It set Rogue on edge. Quiet was not a good thing. Especially not for something like this.
“In the room?” Savage asked, voice dark and edgy.
“For now, but I think they’re on the move,” Code answered tightly. “Something tells me that they don’t realize there’s a camera in the room. Otherwise they wouldn’t be so open. Either someone was lazy and missed it, or it’s hidden and they can’t see it’s there.”
“Any audio?”
“No, the camera is picture only,” Code said briskly. “But they’re all talking in the room right now, and it looks like an intense conversation from the way the woman is pointing at them.”
“Either man doing anything?” Fury asked curiously.
“Can’t see their faces because their backs are to the camera.”
“We need to get in there,” Rogue said tightly.
“Ugh, guys,” Jax said tightly, a few feet away. They all looked at him curiously, and Rogue cursed under his breath when he saw what Jax was looking at. “Looks like our friend Slicer is on the move.”
“Shit, then who’s the other guy?” Fury muttered as they all moved forward and watched out the window as the asshole named Slicer walked out of the service entrance and directly to a black car that quickly peeled out.
“Jax, Snake, go after him. Rogue, let Razor know we have a new man we don’t know anything about and be on the lookout,” Savage ordered briskly.
“I heard already,” Razor’s voice said through the earpiece. “I’ll have the prospect keep an eye out. Code, can you send me a picture of the car?”
“This isn’t a small operation,” Fury said grimly. “We have new players in the game, and it means they’re either here for the girls or—”
“Or they’ve been operating here for a while,” Rogue finished, infuriated. He was going to enjoy killing these assholes. Every last one of them. Then he was going to tear their entire operation apart.
“Well that’s about to stop,” Savage growled, dark eyes hard. “Code, is there any way to identify this mystery guy?”
“Not unless he turns around,” Code answered grimly. “But I can see he’s standing pretty damn stiff so I wouldn’t say he’s all that happy.”
“I don’t give a damn if he’s jumping for joy,” Rogue snarled. “I’m done standing around. Let’s get in there and handle this before they decide to make a run for it and we lose them.”
They all nodded in agreement.
“Ice, you and Steel take point. These assholes slip out, make sure they won’t get far,” Savage ordered.
“Done,” Ice said easily. He and Steel immediately headed to the rooftop, while the rest of them headed out of the building and straight for the service entrance. Having trained snipers in the club was definitely handy in situations like these.
“Code, make sure we’re clear,” Savage ordered softly as they looked around before heading inside.
“Got it. The cameras in the service area show no one around so you’re good to go,” Code told them.
Rogue looked at his brothers and nodded. He loosened the leash on the monster inside him. The dragon was waking from its slumber and ready to send some evil bastards straight to hell. And he was going to enjoy it.
When they walked inside, the bay was dark, with only one small overhead light glowing dimly by the door. It was eerie, and it made every hair on the back of his neck stand up. Something wasn’t right. He glanced around and saw there were a couple of carts, and a few tables and chairs that were folded up and leaning against the wall.
They walked through the door, which led to a narrow hallway, dark concrete walls all around them with only a few sparse doors, with a large metal one at the other end. The hallway was dim as well, and that feeling inside him rose.
“Fuck, this place is creepy,” Trax muttered.
“Incoming,” Code barked in their ears. “Get through those doors fast if you don’t want to be spotted.”
It went against Rogue’s every instinct to hide, but Savage opened one of the doors and quickly walked in, so they had no choice but to follow. They hurried inside and quietly shut the door. None of them moved, and were all careful to keep their breathing quiet as they waited for whoever was about to come down the hallway to walk by.
