“I mean, they’re cute and all, but I am not destroying my coochie for one of those things. No thank you,” Win shuddered.
Scarlett laughed. “You two are nuts. One day you’ll meet a man, and what if he wants kids?”
“Surrogate or adoption,” Wren replied immediately.
Scarlett rolled her eyes and opened the door to the apartment. “Well, at least I never have to worry about you two coming home pregnant.”
“Ha! I think we should check on you and make sure you’re being safe,” Wren snickered. “I mean, the way Rogue looks at you half the time, I won’t be surprised if you end up pregnant before the year is out.”
“Ooooh, does that mean we have to have the safe sex talk with you?” Win teased. “You know, the whole birds and the bees thing?”
“I think we’ve got it,” Rogue’s deep voice said behind them in the hallway, making both girls screech in surprise. Scarlett bit her lip to keep from laughing, and saw the exasperated look on Rogue’s face as he looked at both girls.
“When the hell did you get here?” Win demanded, hand over her chest.
“And why did you scare the shit out of us?” Wren barked, glaring at him.
“Figured you would have known I was here by the lights being on and the door being unlocked,” he replied with a shrug. “Hell, I figured you’d have seen it in your crystal ball or some shit.”
“This is going to be a long few days until we can go home,” Wren grumbled. “Come on, Win. Let’s get our room set up.” Win nodded and gave a glare at Rogue as they grabbed the sheets from Scarlett, then moved past him to their new room, shutting the door behind them.
Scarlett chuckled. “You sure you’re ready to live with two teenage girls?” she asked him as he moved towards her. “You know they’re going to purposely do and say things to get under your skin, right?”
He shrugged carelessly as he backed her up against the fridge. She looked up at him, wide-eyed. He smirked down at her. “Them being in their room means I can have you all to myself,” he said softly, hands settling on her hips.
She swallowed quickly and agreed, “Yes, it does.”
He lowered his head and took her mouth, making her moan softly as his tongue swept inside to duel with hers. It wasn’t hurried or rushed, but there was no mistaking that he was in control. She was powerless to do anything other than melt. The heat in her core ignited, and she lifted her hands to wrap them around his neck, fingers tangling into the hair at his nape.
“Get a room,” Wren said drily as she came to stand a few feet away, arms crossed over her chest.
Rogue pulled his mouth away and turned his head to level her with a hard glare. “Shouldn’t you be in your room conjuring up some kind of potion?” he asked her darkly.
Wren rolled her eyes. “Very original. No, we’re thirsty and want some water. How was I supposed to know you would be sucking face against the fridge? Is this how things are going to go while we’re here? Just going to find you two making out everywhere like teenagers?”
Rogue muttered something under his breath she didn’t quite catch, and then he slowly pulled away and let her go. Scarlett dropped her arms and stepped away from the fridge. “That convent is looking better and better,” Rogue told Wren as he walked towards the couch and sat down.
“And that threat is getting old,” Wren drawled. “Now, before you two start at each other again and I really lose my lunch, how about we get something to eat? I’m starving. The food at Esme’s was great, but we’ve barely eaten anything today.”
“I’ll have someone bring us some pizzas,” Rogue said, pulling out his phone.
“Can you make it one of the cute prospects?” Wren asked innocently.
Rogue paused and Scarlett snickered softly. She knew exactly what Wren was doing, but didn’t bother saying anything. Rogue needed to figure out pretty quickly what he was up against with these two. “What the hell are you doing looking at the prospects?” he barked at Wren, eyes narrowing.
“What?” Wren asked, grabbing two water bottles from the fridge. “You think I didn’t notice them when we drove in? That one with the dark hair is cute. I mean, I am almost sixteen, and now with all this eye candy around, why not check out my options?”
“Like fuck,” he snarled. “You’re not going near any of those assholes.”
“Oh, and how are you going to prevent that?” Win asked as she came down the hallway. “Or have you missed the fact that all the men around here are hot?”
Rogue looked thunderous. Scarlett took pity on him. “Girls, stop tormenting Rogue and get your room set up while he gets us some food.” Rogue looked at her and she grinned at him. “You know, the more you react, the more they’ll egg you on.”
Wren and Win grinned at him wickedly. “It’s too easy,” Win laughed.
“Fuck off,” Rogue growled at them.
“Rogue,” Scarlett snapped at him, glaring at him in warning. He grumbled and walked out of the apartment, slamming the door behind him. She looked at the girls and said calmly, “Go finish your room and don’t bother him again tonight. Tomorrow is soon enough. I’m too hungry to deal with you all.”
