“Rogue’s being Rogue,” she said vaguely.

“Oh, yeah, that narrows it down,” Wren drawled sarcastically.

“Nevermind,” Scarlett said easily. “They’re on their way back, which means we’re going to have to get your room set up.”

“I have some new sheets you can use,” Esme offered, standing. “Still in the package. I went kind of crazy one day when we went to the store.”

“More like Fury pissed you off, so you spent as much of his money as you could in one go,” Karissa snickered. “The look on his face when you came home with all that stuff was priceless.”

Esme grinned over her shoulder and said, “Like he cared. He was just happy that I didn’t cut him off for a week.” Then she disappeared up the stairs.

“That’s what we need,” Wren said with a grin at Win. “We need to get Rogue to give us a credit card and threaten to use it when he pisses us off.”

“No, you are not,” Scarlett said firmly. “Rogue isn’t paying for anything.”

Harlow and Royal both snorted. “Yeah, good luck with that one,” Harlow scoffed. “Also, let me know his reaction when you tell him that, won’t you?”

Scarlett rolled her eyes. “Again, we’ve only been together for a day, there is no way that I’m going to let him start paying for everything. That will not happen and he just needs to accept it. Besides, it’s not like I need to worry about much while we’re staying here. Just groceries and some odds and ends. I’m sure I can handle it.”

“A little word of advice, Scarlett,” Royal said with a friendly smile. “When you’re dating a biker, you’re going to realize they take this whole man-in-charge bullshit to the next level. Their whole goal in life is to make sure you’re safe and that you have everything you could ever want. They’ve come out of their caves on a few things, but financially, they’re still at the very back of it. So be prepared for a huge fight, or for him to flat out ignore you on this.”

“They get butt hurt when you make it sound like they can’t take care of you,” Harlow added helpfully. “It’s just not worth the headache.”

“I’m perfectly fine if he wants to pay for stuff,” Wren said helpfully. “I mean, I really want to be there for the day that I need him to take me shopping for tampons.”

Karissa snickered. “I want video of that.”

“He’ll do it and be plotting his revenge the entire time,” Royal predicted.

Esme came back down the steps with a couple packages of sheets and smiled triumphantly. “Here you go. I have more, but these should start you off. I got the good stuff too, so it’ll be nice and soft.”

“Thank you,” Scarlett said gratefully, taking them. “We should go and get this done before Rogue gets back with our stuff.”

“You need any help?” Esme asked.

“I think we’re good,” Scarlett said with a smile. “But thank you.”

“Listen, these guys can be intense, so if you need time away, just come on over,” Esme offered.

“Same here,” Royal said, standing and reaching over to hug her and then the girls. “We’re right next door, and Steel and Harlow will have their own house soon on the other side of Esme and Fury. We’re also the ones to call if you need to bury a body.”

Scarlett blinked at her. “What?” she asked in confusion.

Harlow grinned. “We offered to bury Fury when he and Esme first started out, so only seems fair we offer you the same. Though you’ll have to do most of the heavy lifting since we’re pregnant.”

Scarlett chuckled. “Ah, thanks. I’ll keep that in mind, but I’m sure we’ll be fine. If he pisses me off, I’ll just kick him back out to the clubhouse.”

Esme and Royal snorted. “Yeah, good luck with that,” Esme said with a pat on her shoulder.

Scarlett didn’t bother rolling her eyes. They said their goodbyes and headed back towards the apartment.

“I like them,” Wren declared. “I know we’ve met them all before, but they’re all fun together. Especially Karissa.”

“Esme’s cool too,” Win agreed.

“I’m glad you like them,” Scarlett said with a smile. “Especially when we’re going to be neighbors for a bit.”

“I’m never having a baby, though,” Wren declared as they made their way up towards the apartment.
