"Don't come to the house anymore," I said harshly. "I don't want you there."
"I was merely paying a little visit to your queen-to-be," Arianna said as if she hadn't been there to put Lara down.
"I don't want you near her, you hear me?!" I growled.
Arianna just narrowed her eyes and looked at me annoyed.
"No," she said.
"What?"
"I said no," she said. "I don't hear you."
I stepped closer to her, and I could see it shook her confidence a little. I was getting quite angry now. No one messed with my little mate and got away with it.
"I don't like repeating myself, Arianna," I said. "So don't make me."
She looked up at me, not blinking, and continued to defy me. I didn't like that. Being her father's daughter was giving her too much confidence. She thought she was untouchable, but she was not.
"She isn't worthy of you," she said.
"You have no idea how worthy she is," I said. "She will make a better queen and mate than you could ever be."
That made her very angry, and she stood up, so there wasn't a lot of distance between us.
"She is a HALF-BLOOD!" she yelled.
"In a way so am I," I said.
"It isn't the same. Your blood is powerful and full of strength. Hers is ... tainted."
"Don't speak of my mate like that," I warned her. "Offend my queen and you offend me."
Arianna just laughed mockingly.
"She will never be your queen!"
"She will. I will soon make her mine, and then her training will begin," I promised.
"Don't you see she will never get the support I could get?!" she asked. "And that will cost you!"
"I won't change my mind," I told her.
"Then you are being a fool."
"A fool? You are calling your king a fool?" I asked, getting tired of this discussion.
"The council won't support you," she said and crossed her arms. "But if you choose me, they would all support you, and no one would say anything."
"I don't give a shit about the damn council. I think I might just have let them have power for too long," I said darkly.
That seemed to shake her confidence.
"Are you threatening the council now?" she asked.
"I am telling them to back the hell off!" I growled deeply.
My wolf wasn't very happy about this talk either, and he was pacing inside of me angrily, wanting to come out and show Arianna what happens to those who hurt our mate.
