Lily flashed us the same grin. “Morning.”

Jane’s wide gaze watched with a smile. “Hi, sunshine!”

Silently, I observed as they both strode to the coffee pot. They whispered among themselves for a moment before Lily spun around.

“Am I allowed to go to my office?” She sighed. “I have several big meetings today.”

Nodding once, I set my cup on the placemat. “I will make sure you have security.”

Carmine shot me a curious look.

“I need your help later.”

Lily rolled her eyes. “I don’t need sec—”

Carmine nudged her. She snapped her mouth closed immediately.

“Will all due respect,” she reworded her sentence, “I don’t want to raise any eyebrows. Anything that happens out of the ordinary may cause so many questions and chatter around my company. You know how well-known my brand is.”

She was right, and she was also not a target. I nodded. “Fine, but I will send Carmine to check on you at some point.”

She glanced at him, grinning. “I’m okay with that.”

“I bet you are.” I mumbled under my breath.

“See you guys later!” She waved before standing on her toes, placing a small peck on his cheek.

Carmine meandered to the table, sipping a cup of coffee with a smile. “Is it okay if I have the morning to handle something personal?”

“Looksand soundedlike you already did.” I lifted my mug to my lips, hiding a smirk behind the rim.

Rolling his eyes, he averted his gaze. Jane giggled.

“Of course, you can have the morning off,” I leaned back, crossing my ankle over my knee, “but I need a favor.”

“Sure, what's up?” He placed his cup on the table, running his fingers through his hair before pulling it up on his head.

“I need you to find who murdered Jane's father and bring them to me.”

Jane lowered her gaze to the table, fidgeting in her chair.

Carmine glanced at her, narrowing his gaze before meeting mine. “Will you send me over the info you do have?”

I nodded once.

“Thanks, see you at noon.” He sped out of the kitchen, leaving his cup behind. It was very unusual. He was a neat freak.

After seeing Carmine and Lily together this morning, I knew exactly where he was headed when she left for work. The moment he was out of the driveway, I ditched my security, tailing him in the Porsche I had locked away under a tarp.

Carmine always watched his surrounding, waiting for danger. He would definitely spot me. He went to the precise location I expected, parking near the entrance to my supply warehouse. There was a quaint prison in the back, we calledHolding. The property was heavily guarded round the clock.

My brothers were busy in the distance. Some of the soldiers were handing the freshly imported products, loading them into the warehouse. Carmine prowled across the parking lot toward the back of the building.

Quietly, I got out of the car, sliding my phone from my pocket, sending Emilio a text.

May need you in a few. Get Luca.

Marching to the back of the building, I waited for my brothers. Leaning on the wall outside Holding, I listened in.
