Or maybe the ball to the head just loosened up my tongue.
“You want to go back to the party?” he asks me, but his tone suggests he isn’t really in the mood for it. Fine by me. Maybe this really is my chance.
“Not yet. Still feel a little dizzy.”
Yeah, I can play that up, why not? “Do you mind?”
“Of course not.” He sits on the bed beside me, creating a dent in the mattress which edges me closer to him. I don’t know if this is on purpose or not but it feels good. “I don’t even know why I’m at this party really, I guess I just wanted to go to one Beaufort party before…”
“Before what? You go back to college?”
He lets out a little sigh. “Before I go to London. Maybe. I mean, it isn’t certain yet, but I might be doing a semester or two out there. I’ve applied, and I know it would be cool to get it, but I don’t know if I will. It’s just… well, one of those things.”
I hear him, I really do.
I know that he’s trying to open up a bit to me, but all I can think about is that this reallyisthe last chance I’m going to get. I’ve already been completely humiliated in front of him, so why not just put it all out there in case I never see him again?
I don’t know if this is brave or completely stupid, but the words flow anyway.
“Josh, I don’t know if you know this, but I have always had a major crush on you…”
“No way,” he says with a surprised chuckle. “There’s no way a cutie like you has had a crush on me, and I didn’t know about it. I know I would have noticed you in high school…”
“Even with me being younger than you?” I cock a knowing eyebrow. “I don’t think there’s a chance in hell that you would have noticed me when you had all the girls chasing after you.”
“It wasn’t like that…” He trails off, because he knows it was. A handsome guy like him in a small-town high school… everyone wanted him.
“Okay,” he concedes, “but I still think I would have noticed you, Lexi, because look at you. You’re a goddess.”
That’s not something I would normally believe, but right now it’s hard not to fall into the beauty of his words. He has this way of making me feel really special. I lean into him, resting my head on his shoulder, trying my hardest to savor the moment before it vanishes from sight and there isn’t anything left.
I don’t know what comes over me, but I twist my neck around to look at him. I just want to see his beautiful eyes once more. I’m not expecting him to lean down and kiss me.
But he does.
He grazes his lips over mine, lightly at first, as if he’s testing the waters. But the second kiss that comes my way is needier and full of desire.
So much desire that a small moan flies out of my mouth. I can’t control it.
I can’t control myself.
This isit.
“Lexi, oh my God,” Josh groans as he turns himself right around to face me. His eyes are hooded with desire, and need. I’m throbbing all over, butterflies flapping happily in the pit of my stomach, I am all need. “You really are special.”
He lays me back slowly on the bed, somehow managing to make the sounds of the party vanish, or at the very least quieten down. There’s a buzzing in my brain that only allows me to see and hearhim.
The man I have always wanted. I might have even spent my whole youth head over heels in love with him. That’s certainly how I feel right now as he hitches my dress up ever so slightly. The perfect dress that I spent forever picking out for tonight, just to now want it ripped from my body.
I want Josh toreallysee me.
His fingers edge up my thighs as his kisses get more frantic. The dizziness intensifies as the waistband of my panties tugs away. His hand weaves through my wispy public hair, until he finally strokes my soaking wet slit.
Oh my God.
Oh my fucking God.
I have heard that it’s supposed to feel good, but I didn’t know it was going to feel likethis. A guttural cry of pleasure comes out of me.
