I glance at my brothers standing around me, all looking at me with expressions of confusion and frustration at my perceived reluctance. There’s an eagerness in their eyes as well. They want what Viking’s suggesting.
I nod. “We’ll decide, once I tell you all everything you need to know.”
“What don’t we know?” Axel asks.
I turn to look at him directly. “You especially, Axel.” I reach out to place a hand on his shoulder. “I need you to talk to Cherry… This isn’t all my story to tell. I need you to explain to her that the ghosts we left behind in Gila Bend, have found their way to our town.”
“Is Cherry in danger?” Axel asks with a dark glare I’ve rarely seen.
“I don’t think so.”
Legion knew nothing about her. When they met at the bonfire that night of Axel’s patching in party, neither Legion, nor Cherry, reacted in any way that would have made me think there was something recognizable between them. Legion truly never knew about her. And she never knew about the Chrome Demons connection to the Devil’s Scorpions MC. Cherry would have told me so the night they showed up in my lot. The night I first met Legion.
“Go back to the club house… Talk to your girl tonight.” I say.
“And just what are you off to go do on your own, after this shit? The Demons could grab you again. You’re an easy target alone and in your condition.” Viking says. “At least let me go with you.”
“I’m going to see Madeline.” I reply. “Escort me to the gates of the cemetery if you insist… I want to be alone, beyond that.”
