Sara

The hotel was kind enough to block off one of the meeting rooms for the week for me. I guess Adrien had something to do with it. I’m happy, but also really surprised that he’s not trying to get in touch again. I really need him to just give me some breathing room.

I’m going to have to buy Bryan a beer later. I’m guessing he’s the reason Adrien hasn’t been blowing up my phone all morning.

Knock knock.

I look up, and a big smile spreads over my face when I see Catherine pop her head.

“Ok, I’m breaking you out of here.” She makes her way over to me.

“Bryan is going to meet us for drinks later. You and I are going to have something to eat alone.”

I close up everything I’ve been working on today and put my laptop in my bag.

“Oh, man, I could really get used to having you around.”

I look at her, and she laughs.

“Ok, if I know Adrien at all, I’m guessing I have you all to myself till the weekend.”

We get seated straight away at the restaurant, and we order our food. Catherine needs to stop looking from my ring to my face, back and forth.

“Do I take that as a good sign?” She asks, nodding at the ring.

“Catherine.”

“Well I’m guessing so since surely you’d have left it in LA.”

“Ok. So we’re doing this now, are we? Thought you’d have tried getting a couple of cocktails down me first.”

She sips her drink and looks at me over the rim.

“He didn’t tell me about Katie working FOR AB Enterprises, just that she worked in the building. "I saw her heading into a meeting with Adrien and the other marketing team members."

I take another sip of my cocktail.

“Then Jenna let me know that the Katie thing wasn’t a one-night thing but carried on in LA, and then she got the job with the accounting department.”

Now I neck the rest of my drink and motion to the waitress from across the room. I need another.

“Okay” Catherine says slowly. “Well, I don’t know about seeing her back in LA, but I'm pretty surprised by that. As for helping her get a job, that I can see.”

The waitress puts down my drink and takes away the empty glass.

“As for working there, I kinda thought you knew.”

I look up at her.

“You knew?”

“Yeah I mean I knew she worked there. But I mean Sara, it's a big company.”

“I know. I’m just angry at him for lying to me when I asked him about it.”

“God men can be so stupid sometimes.”

We enjoy the rest of our meal then Bryan joins us, and we enjoy some drinks.
