“I’m going to need that name. I’ll call you later today to discuss.”

Then he hangs up the phone. He sounded annoyed.

Susan has gone as white as a ghost and sinks into her chair. She obviously knows something I don’t.

Alex is giving me a ‘don’t ask me’ look.

We close out the meeting and the team who will be responsible for handling the day to day on all the plans know me and Alex are only a call, email, or flight away.

“Thanks,” I whisper to Alex as I shove his shoulder. “Drinks to celebrate?”

“Yeah. Sure. I’m going to go back to the apartment to get changed. Meet you in half an hour?”

“Sure.” He smiles and walks in the opposite direction.

I makemy way up to the apartment and swipe my key across the door.

Adrien lying on the couch reading one of my spicy romance books in casual clothes isn't what I expected. But it brings a huge smile to my face. I kick my shoes off as I walk towards him and straddle him.

He continues to pretend to read the book. He’s the world's slowest reader, or I've broken his concentration. I’m betting on the latter.

I start to unbutton my shirt and that finally gets his attention. Pulling it off after I get to the bottom.

He kisses my breasts and looks up at me. Like really looks at me.

“I’m sorry.” He says, looking me in the eye.

“I know,” I whisper and move to unclasp my bra.

He stops me with his fingers.

“Sara I mean it.”

“I know. I’ve already forgiven you. I mean, I should have talked to you about it instead of jumping on a plane and running away.” I say, my hands holding his face.

He pulls my hand away and kisses my engagement ring.

“I never took it off.”

“I know everyone kept telling me.”

“You have spies,” I smile, wiggling my ass on his crotch that has gotten harder every second I sit and move.

“All over the place,” he smiles, pulling me in for a long, deep kiss.

The kiss is hard, and slow and not his usual style. God, I’ve missed this man.

I unzip the back of my skirt, which is getting more and more uncomfortable the longer I’m wearing it.

Adrien smiles at me because I did not think this through. He obviously did, though. He pulls it up and over me like a dress. He pulls it over my breasts, but he’s a man on a mission. He didn’t want me moving away from him, even for a second.

“Better?” I say.

“Much better. More places to lick and bite and touch.”

He moves his head to my breasts, and I moan when he bites on my nipple.

My head falls back, and I moan up to the ceiling.
