“Has she forgiven you yet for making her lose the pool?” I smile.

“Not sure. I think Bryan has, though.”

Catherine: Hope you’re not having hot sex all over the house. Well, I do, but I need you to call me. Gone are the days when I could call you any time, and you'd answer.

I laugh and show it Adrien.

“Ha ha. I’ll leave you ladies to it. See you inside.”

Sara: That happened one time.

Catherine: If you’re messaging me, that must mean it’s safe.

The next thing I know, my FaceTime is flashing.

“Are you ever going to forgive me for that?” I say as I get myself comfy.

“Not yet. I think I can still get some mileage out of it yet.”

“What’s up? Why are you calling me so late?”

“Because I’m not a grandma. I’m planning some meetings in the next month and was wondering if you have any openings to fit me into your very busy schedule. I’ll be in LA at the end of next month.”

“That shouldn’t be a problem. Stay here.”

“Don’t you want to ask the boss man?”

That’s when I realize I’ve already started acting like this is my place, too. Which it is but, when the hell did I think of it as my house too?

I must have a panicked look on my face.

“Sara, I was joking. I think it’s great that you think of it as your place, too.”

“Yeah.” I ponder that thought some more. “Not sure when it happened.”

Jenna walksover to me carrying a pile of folders. I look up from my laptop and pull away from my desk.

“Adrien said you needed these.”

“I do. God, has the guy never heard of a digital copy?”

“I know right.”

I have a clear view of the elevator from my office when the door is open, and right now I wish I hadn’t.

Katie steps out, she looks around but clearly doesn’t see me and walks towards the conference room. The glass conference room. Where Adrien is currently sitting. He looks confused, then stands up.

I can feel Jenna’s eye on me as I take a deep breath.

As soon as I look at her, she turns away.

“Ok, well, if Adrien is down here, he’s going to want me back at my desk.”

“Jenna.” She stops but doesn’t look at me.

“How do you know Katie?”

Her eyes nearly pop out of her head.
