Chapter 16

Regrets

Alexander's POV

I escaped from Katie's room my dick harder than it had ever been. What the hell was wrong with me. I love Katie with all my heart, and I would give anything to make love to her, but damn I don’t want to force myself on her. Her skin was incredibly soft and her lips oh, how I would love to take every kiss I could. My dick throbbed at the thought of how I almost had my way with her. No. God damnit, what was I thinking? Compose yourself Alexander, you're a gentleman not a pig. I shifted my pants some as I walked further away from her room. I needed to hide this issue of mine until I could handle it.

I suppose I should thank Dylan since he stopped me. My face was slightly sore from his punch. I growled and punched a wall in the hallway on the second floor. I smelt her and lost control, something that has never happened to me before with any other female. I hit the wall again and again. I couldn’t get Katie and how she felt out of my head.

"The alpha isn't going to be happy with this." I looked up to notice Alice and her annoying fucking accent. The last person I ever wanted to see, more so while trying to conceal a boner. Wait what did I do, damnit the wall. Damian wouldn’t be thrilled to find out I took my anger out on a wall, where others could see. A beta having a breakdown of any kind was never good. Fuck.

"I'll fix it. Do not worry about grabbing anyone to repair it." I said to her as she walked away.

I knew she would bring pack members and that word would spread the beta snapped. I hated gossip and would do anything to prevent it. I'm the beta dammit I shouldn't have acted this way.I telepathically reach out to Tagon.

I need some drywall supplies, tools, and paint for the second-floor hallway. She was a worker in the pack and could get me what was needed.

No one would question her if she had those items. Tagon didn’t come off as one to cause issues, she was quiet and kept to herself. Granted this could be because she was decently new to the pack. I needed to tell Damian what happened before Alice did or even Katie. Dylan, I’m not worried about, I know he would rather handle this between ourselves.

Twenty minutes had passed, and I had gotten extremely impatient. Where the fuck is Tagon and why is she not here? I began to growl and that's when I heard it, her.

"Knickers in a twist?" Tagon asked me, her British accent was as thick as mud. Tagon was a bigger short female with chopped-off brown hair that had golden highlights. Her hair stopped at the bottom of her ear and if it wasn't for her baby face and extremely large bust you would think she was a male.

"What took so long?" I snapped at her and frowned slightly as she backed away from me. She acts as if she has been abused severely. She was only sixteen and was abandoned from all we knew. The thought of her being abused as young as she was, was disgusting "I-I’m sorry beta." She shook as she handed me the supplies as if I would hit her for being slow. I sighed and took them from her gently and began to prep the wall.

"I'm sorry, I’m just not myself today." I looked over at her. She was wearing a pink t-shirt that has a quote on it, live free. Her white shorts were almost too short. She had soft light almost pastel brown eyes. When it came to friends, she preferred to keep people away and stay alone. Confusing really for someone her age. However, none of us knew the hell she had been through, yet it was like she hid something from the pack.

"It's ok. D-Do you need help?" She seemed so scared of me and I didn't understand why. I knew I had a reputation, but it wasn’t like I was a psychopath. Maybe letting her help fix these two holes will get her to calm down around me.

"Sure" I smiled at her, and she came over. She prepped the second hole in the wall as I finished the first. She seemed to glance at me, yet she tore her gaze away once I caught her. I started to apply new drywall, well the repair kit, as she does.

"Well, this will be a while before we can paint it. I can-" Before I could even finish what I was going to say she cut me off.

"I-I'll stay and paint it." She begged me as if she would rather not go back to what she was previously doing. Was someone out of line with her? I shrug my shoulders and walk off. I should have asked her what was wrong, but I also needed to handle something important.

"Very well." I need to find Damian. Hopefully, he was still in his office as I huffed and headed that way. Just maybe he would understand I didn’t mean for things to go how they did with Katie.

Tagon's POV

"Very well." He said to me as he turned his back to me and walked away. This is my chance; I could attack him now with his back turned and his mind elsewhere. I could claim he went crazy and tried to attack me. No that wouldn't work, no one would buy it. Don't worry murderer you'll get what’s yours soon.

I sighed as I noticed I'm all alone finally, a breath of relief. It is difficult to get alone in this place. I pulled out my phone and dialed a number I don't have saved, that I can't have saved. I was forced to memorize this number while being tortured. Torture they promised would prepare me for here. A male picked up the phone

"Hello?" I grinned before telling him it was time. "The beta has lost his mind. The time to strike this pack is now. With the beta going crazy we can kill the alpha and his daughter." The coldness in my voice echoed through the hall.

"Are you sure it's time?" The male asked me. I growled at this. I may just be a nobody, but this is the time. I knew this would be the best time to strike. They had the conflict with another pack earlier and won’t expect anything from a rogue attack directly on the mansion.

"Yes, and the beta-" I pause for a moment as I soaked in the excitement "He's mine to kill." I pleaded to the male.

"We will plan a small attack to test them." He ordered me. "The alpha's daughter is mine. No one is to harm her." I groaned at this. He was obsessed with this female, and I just didn't understand it. It would be so much easier to just kill her off and stop this bloodline cold.

"Deal." The call ended. What he didn’t know was that I had no intention of Katie living.
