“Slow your roll, lady!”

“That storm was terrifying and amazing at the same time,” she said with a sigh. “Tony and I didn’t leave the room the whole next day. It was like we both realized how important tomorrow is. We don’t know if we have a tomorrow.”

“It really was one of those pivotal moments in life,” I agreed. “I know it shook Ryan up. He was different. I was different. I bet there was a whole lot of sex happening that night.”

Norah laughed. “I think you’re right. Jennie told me she went out to the pool that following morning and it was a ghost town.”

“Everyone was huddled up in bed,” I said.

“I’m glad your man came back in one piece. I’m glad he is your man. I get to take a little credit for the two of you getting together.”

“You do?” I asked.

“Yep,” she said. “My wedding, my party. You had to come. He had to come. You both came because of me.”

“And the class reunion,” I reminded her.

“You wouldn’t have come to the reunion if you weren’t already here for my wedding,” she said. “We both know that. You’ve made it very clear you didn’t want to see any of these people again.”

“True,” I said. “Fine, you can have all the credit.”

“And whoever set the two of you up deserves some credit,” she said. “Do you think she knew you guys would hit it off?”

“I doubt it,” I said. “Although she did brag a little about setting up some love matches. She claims to be this guru at knowing who will work well together. In my case, I think it was convenient. I was going to be here, and it was the most logical choice.”

“Send her a thank you card,” Norah said. “You just found your match.”

“I hope so,” I said. “Enough about me. Do you need anything from me as the maid of honor?”

“So far, everything is good,” she said. “We met with the event coordinator this morning. Flowers are here. Catering is ready. Cake will be done. My dress is here. I feel like everything is going very well, which scares me a little.”

“It’ll be fine,” I told her. “Let me and the event lady handle everything.”

“We should go get ready,” she said. “The party bus will be here in a couple of hours.”

“Is that Tony’s plan too?” I asked. “Is he staying here for the bachelor party?”

“They are doing a party bus as well,” she said. “I’m not sure where they will end up.”

“That’s scary,” I said.

“Ryan will be fine,” she assured me.

“I wasn’t worried.”

“Liar,” she teased. “Let’s go get ready.”

She went to her room, and I headed for mine to get ready for the night. I was turning into one of those girls that wanted to spend every minute with her man. I was already missing the guy and it had only been a couple hours. I showered and got ready for the night. Before leaving the room, I sent him a quick text to wish him luck.

I hoped like hell Tony and his friends weren’t jerks to him.
