“You can’t fucking attack him right now.” She sounds logical, but I can’t think straight. I get up and want to argue with her.

“She’s right. If he sees you coming, he’ll escape. And God knows if you’ll ever catch him again.”

Lana.

“What do you propose that we do?” I ask her.

She looks at Sara and asks her to step forward so we can talk about a plan.

“Let him go inside the restaurant. There he’ll be in a confined space, and then we attack.” Lana starts, and Sara nods along, agreeing with her proposed course of action.

“Hana, can you disable all electronics once we give you the signal? Over.” Sara asks her.

My brilliant cousin answers immediately. “I fucking will. Give me the okay, and it’s done.”

This is what happens when women lead an operation—structure and combat intelligence.

“Sweetheart, are you there?” Sara asks the love of her life.

“Look behind you.” His smooth voice comes through, and we all turn around. My best friend runs toward him and engulfs him in a hug, happy he’s still here.

I look at Lana and notice she’s smiling at them—a genuine smile.

Fuck.

To regain focus, I speak to Josh and Oliver. “Josh, Oliver, new plan. Dario has arrived and is making his way towards the study. We need him and Lucas alive. Over.”

“But the rest can still be killed, right? Over.” Oliver is hungry for blood, and I confirm that he can indulge in slaughtering these men.

“Do your thing once you are inside. Leave no one alive. Over.”

“Done and fucking done. Over.”

I turn my attention to the truck and see that three men are guarding it, bringing our total number of opponents to nineteen.

“Are you all ready for nineteen fuckers to be killed?” I ask my team.

Adam positions himself on the ground with his sniper rifle.

Sara takes out her gun.

Lana grips her assault rifle.

And I take my cleaver.

“Let’s do this.”

Chapter thirty-eight

Lana

The three guards that were rooted into place went over to the three dickheads standing by the truck.

“I’ll snipe out three assholes by the truck; the other three are all yours,” Adam confirms as he’s anxiously waiting to make his first kill of the night. The sharp focus of that man should be studied, and the rest of Noa’s team. The coordination in how they move is astounding.

I’m in awe.

No wonder nobody can apprehend them.
