Remy nodded, reached up for one last kiss, and said, “Okay, I get it.”

He thought about adding that he really missed Jed when they didn’t sleep together, missed just being next to him, and decided that was probably too much. Thought about it a little more and decided that talking about how hot he was for Jed would probably be acceptable, so he took a risk and added, “It’s not going to take me long, by myself. I’ll be thinking about you, you know. Your hands on me. I love how they’re rougher than mine. I can never make it feel like you do.”

“Fuck,” Jed breathed, and then his hand was down Remy’s sweats and Remy was thrusting and they were kissing again, teeth clashing, until Remy came with a moan.

“Can I?” he asked a minute later, touching Jed lightly through his pants.

“No, I’m good.” Jed took a deep breath. “I mean it this time. I need to go.”

“When we get home, then.”

Jed pressed one last kiss on the top of his head, adjusted himself, and was out the door before Remy could stop him.

Remy sat with Petey and Jake on the late flight home the next evening. He really wanted to sit next to Jed, just to breathe him in and fall asleep on his shoulder. But Petey swept him along toward the back of the plane as they boarded.

“I’m too wiped to play cards with you tonight.” Jake rolled his shoulders and closed his eyes as they settled into their usual seats.

“Eh. I’m pretty tired, too.” Petey yawned. “It’s hard work, scoring all the goals for our line. Keeping the team afloat. No big deal, but if you could help me out once in a while, it’d be great.”

Jake, who’d put up multiple points in each game, gave Petey his middle fingers but didn’t bother opening his eyes. Remy was impressed with his restraint. The only reason Petey had two goals against the Steamers was that Jake had drawn a couple of penalties on the guys who were set on taking Petey out.

“But,” Petey continued, “I’m not too tired to fall asleep without saying you’re playing pretty good now, Remy. You can admit it now, right? Getting laid helps.”

“Don’t know what you mean.” Remy was not talking about that on the plane, surrounded by the entire team.

“Sure you do, bro.” At least Petey was keeping his voice down, for once. “You. Our goalie. Bumping uglies or whatever the fuck you want to call it. I can tell by looking at you.”

“What, you have some kind of sex radar?”

“Yeah, pretty much.”

“Dude, shut up and let me sleep.” Jake kicked Petey and then opened his eyes and gave Remy a genuine smile. “Glad it’s working out. I can tell you’re both happy.”

Remy couldn’t help but grin back, and Petey made fun of him for blushing, and Bakesy turned around and told them to shut the fuck up before he gagged them with duct tape.

“Uh, I’ve done that before,” said Petey irrepressibly. “Not as hot as you might think, because that shit’s sticky. And I’m not sure I’d be into it with you, per se.”

“Per se, my ass,” Bakesy said. “I mean it.”

Remy got a text from Jed then.

Jed

Wtf is Moreau up to?

You need me to send Hal back there?

Remy

Nah it’s all good

Jed

Get some rest then x

Remy stared at the x way too long. Felt himself blushing again and even getting hard, imagining Jed’s big fingers hovering over his phone before tapping out that final letter. It could be a typo, hanging there at the end of the sentence. But probably not, right?

What the hell.
