I didn’t.
The bed shifted beneath us as I moved faster, the room filling with broken breaths and the sounds neither of us was trying to hold back anymore.
I lifted my head and found Luna already looking at me.
For a second, everything else disappeared. There was only her beneath me, her hand locked with mine and the way she looked at me without an ounce of hesitation.
I kissed her.
Her breathing changed against my mouth.
I knew that sound now.
I kept the same pace, and Luna’s fingers squeezed mine as the tension started building through her again.
“Ellis—”
“I got you.”
Her body tightened around me.
My name broke from her lips as she came, her legs pulling me closer while I kept moving through it.
Watching her lose herself beneath me took the last of my control with it.
I pressed my forehead against hers, our hands still locked together as I followed her.
For a while, neither of us moved.
I wasn’t sure I could if I tried.
Luna’s breathing slowly evened beneath me.
Mine took longer.
Eventually, I lifted my head.
Her eyes opened.
I looked at her.
She looked at me.
“You okay?” I asked quietly.
“Yeah.” Her fingers moved along the back of my neck. “You?”
“Yeah.”
Neither of us looked away.
“Good,” I said.
Her mouth twitched.
Then she started laughing.
I stared at her. “What?”
