He grabs my chin with one hand and holds my head steady, not hurting me, just keeping my attention for some unknown reason.
A million things are racing through my head. First of all, Silver has starred in every filthy fantasy I’ve had since the day I met him. He’s over six feet tall, has dark brown hair, brown eyes, and a square jaw. His expression is always contemplative and serious. I assume his IQ is off the chart. He’s one of the fucking smartest people I’ve ever known.
And he makes my panties wet. He’s the reason I even go to calculus tutoring. Lord knows it’s not because I don’t understand math. I’m a wiz at calculus, most of the time.
I had one tiny question several weeks ago near the beginning of the semester. I stepped into the math lab to get some assistance, and holy Mother of God, this brick wall of a man happened to be there at the time.
Sure, he helped me with my assignment. He also helped me learn to masturbate. Thoughts of him make me squirm day and night. And here he is, touching me, pinning me to the door. This situation is all kinds of fucked up, but half the reason I’m panting is from his proximity.
“Daphne…” he warms. “Tsk, tsk. Such a potty mouth.” He glances down at my pink-sequined breasts. “You look like a stripper.”
I shoot him a glare. “Duh. That was my plan. I’m sure you ruined it for me, though. Thanks a lot.”
His gaze narrows. “Why the hell did you take a job as an adult dancer?”
I roll my eyes. “It pays well. Or it would have.”
Now what am I going to do?
“Why do you need the money?”
I shove at his chest, wishing he would back off, but he’s immovable. His hand slides from my chin to my throat, still holding me to the door. He’s not cutting off my airway, but he could. He’s threatening me solely with his stance.
I stop struggling out of self-preservation. “I don’t exactly have a trust fund, Silver,” I grit out. “I have a tuition scholarship, but it doesn’t cover room and board.”
He leans closer, so close that his breath dances over my mouth. The mint must be from his toothpaste, mouthwash, or maybe gum or mints. “Where are you living?”
I swallow and stare at him.
“Daphne…” he warns.
“My car. All right? Are you happy now?”
He growls again. “Not at all. You’re an engineering student. I know you’re smart. Living in your car isn’t safe.”
I flinch at his words. The same ones I heard two weeks ago when I was attacked in the middle of the night. I shake that memory from my thoughts. I refuse to let that asshole control my life. He will not ruin this good thing I have going here. I won’t give him my power. I won’t.
“Daphne.” The sharp tone of Silver’s voice yanks me back to the present.
Shoving that terror from my head, I grab Silver’s wrist and tug on it. “Let me go.”
“I’m not going to let you dance on that stage, Daphne.”
“I’m sure I’ve been fired already, so it doesn’t matter now,” I spit out.
After a few seconds, he finally releases me and steps back.
I feel exposed in this revealing outfit. It’s not my style at all. He’s only ever seen me in jeans, T-shirts, and hoodies. I’m practically naked, and he doesn’t try to hide his gaze as it roams down my body.
While he ogles me, he removes his jacket and wraps it around me. “Come on.”
“Where are we going?”
“Out of here. Do you have your belongings stored somewhere?”
“Yes.”
“Then let’s get them.”
