I can’t move. This is surreal. I’m blocking the door. My math tutor is ordering me around like a naughty schoolgirl. I’m humiliated that he saw me. Why the hell is he here anyway? He doesn’t seem like the sort of guy who frequents strip clubs.

When I took this job, I assumed I wouldn’t see any college students here. I guess I was wrong. How embarrassing. On top of that, his gaze keeps straying to the sequin-and-tasseled bikini top that’s barely covering my breasts.

Tugging his jacket around me, I bark, “My eyes are on my face.”

He smirks. “I’m not the one who forced you to put on a scrap of lingerie and strut your ass onto the stage.”

“You’re the one staring at me now, though, aren’t you?”

He lifts a brow. “I’m the one who’s two seconds from spanking your sassy bottom if you don’t turn around and collect your belongings.”

My breath hitches. Is he insane? I don’t think he is. He’s deadly serious.

My pussy clenches, infuriating me. I do not want to react to his words or give him any indication that I think he’s a chiseled hunk of god. His ego would overflow and flood the place.

“Daphne, now,” he orders, pointing at the door. “You’re trying my patience.”

“What? Are you my father?” That’s what he sounds like, and fuck me, but the idea of him bossing me around makes my nipples hard. Good thing he can’t see them behind the flashy, elaborate bikini top.

Another smirk. “I’m certainly not your father, but it seems like you could use a Daddy with that sassy mouth and attitude. Alas, Daddy kink is not something I’m into.”

My face flushes. It must be bright red, and I fist my hands at my sides. I’m furious and turned on at the same time. If he had any idea how he affects me…

He lifts both brows. “You don’t have a comeback, naughty girl?”

The heat in my cheeks increases, and I spin around and yank the door open. I need to get out of here. The closet is suffocating me. I think his bossy pheromones are going to my head.

Five minutes later, I’m marched out the back of the strip club, Silver gripping my bicep firmly as though he really is my Daddy who caught me sneaking out to go to a bar and followed me.

“Thanks for nothing,” I mutter, trying to dislodge my arm from his grip.

He says nothing as he manhandles me toward an older-model Ford truck. It must be his. He yanks open the passenger door, grabs me around the waist, and lifts me onto the bench seat.

“What are you doing? I have my own car.” I bat at him as he pulls the seatbelt across me and buckles me in without a word. “Silver,” I shout.

The infuriating yet sexy man ignores me, rounds the hood, and hops in behind the wheel.

I should have taken the opportunity to jump out of the cab, but my mind is spinning in circles. I’m jarred out of my stupor when he starts the engine. Grabbing his arm, I say, “Where are you taking me? I need my car. All my belongings are in it.”

“It’s late. You’re staying at my place tonight. We’ll figure out what to do next in the morning.”

I shake my head. “I can’t just go home with you. You’re my…uh…math tutor.” That’s the lamest thing I’ve ever said, but the truth is I can’t possibly go home with Silver. He’s too much of a temptation. He’s several years older than I am. I bet he’s about twenty-five. He’s working on his PhD. A brainiac.

Chuckling, he backs out of the spot. “There’s no university policy that says math tutors can’t provide a bed for another student.”

Provide a bed…

What the fuck does that mean? Is he planning to sleep with me? I can’t tell whether or not he even likes me as a human. He’s so odd. All he’s done so far tonight is reprimand me. He probably thinks I’m some stupid freshman who can’t make good choices, which is partly accurate.

Deflated, I turn to face the windshield and slump into my seat. He didn’t even let me change. I’m still wearing the hot-pink bikini with the matching thong that’s barely covered by a provocative skirt made up of nothing but tassels and sequins. The only protection I have against the world is his jacket, which I pull around me.

I don’t say a word as he drives. We’re several miles out of Darkwell, so it takes about fifteen minutes before he pulls into the driveway of a large two-story, rundown house.
