My heart flutters. “Better, thank you.” Carter never asked; this man is a different breed.

“How about some breakfast?”

“You hungry for anything in particular?” I quirk my brow, running the tips of my fingers down his back.

“Lola, you could make a sinner out of a saint.” He bends, kissing me. “Damn well good I’m no saint.”

“Even better for me.” I smile coyishly.

His eyes are full of desire. “Keep it up, you’ll never get rid of me.”

“Well, we can’t have that, now can we? I’m a single girl and all. I might need to keep my options open.”

His eyes narrow. “Are you trying to get rid of me?”

“Never.” I pull him to me, kissing him deeply.

We kiss, touch, hold each other, and simply enjoy being here for an hour, until his phone rings. He reaches across me, kissing me as he gets his phone from the nightstand. He stares at it, presses his finger to his lips, and hits speaker.

“Hey, Lan.”

“Lenny, are you okay?” Lachlan’s voice deepens.

I slap my hand over my mouth at his nickname, and his eyes widen. “I’m fine, just catching up on my sleep.”

“Where are you?” Now, I’m the one with big eyes.

Lennox kisses my nose. “In bed.”

“Whose bed?” Lachlan fires back.

“Whose bed would I be in?” Lennox pauses. “Don’t answer that, you’re on speaker.” And now, it’s my mouth that’s wide open. I squirm, trying to get out from under him.

“Why am I on speaker, and where are you?” Lachlan’s voice becomes light.

Lennox sighs heavily. “I’m at Lola’s, who is now pissed because of the bed question.” I pinch his side as he tries to bite me.

“As I suspected.”

There’s a noise and then Maisyn’s on the phone. “It was me, I knew you’d be there.”

“Fine, Maisyn suggested you would be together.” He snickers. “Catching you in bed together is a bonus.”

Lennox lays the cell down, pinning me to the bed. “I’m going to kiss her now.” I smash my mouth together, giving him the evil eye.

“I don’t hear her. I think you’re faking it and jacking off to her memory.” He chuckles.

“Lachlan!” Maisyn yells in the background.

Lennox laughs as my face turns bright red. “She’s embarrassed, Lan, shut the hell up.”

“You’re lying, Lola isn’t there, unless you’ve nicknamed your left-hand Lola.” Lachlan is laughing his ass off.

Lennox cocks his brow. “Woman, you better say something or else.”

I shoot him a wicked smile, and the silence gets Lachlan going. “Shot down in flames!”

“That’s it, I gave you fair warning.” My eyes widen as he leans in and starts nibbling on my neck. “One word.”
