Rose reached out and touched Storm's hand.
"You don't have to explain."
"We trust you."
Frank nodded.
"Completely."

Storm felt a lump rise in her throat.

Rose smiled warmly.

Storm walked back toward the bridge.
Ward fell into step beside her.
"They handled that well."
"They're remarkable."
He looked toward the salon.
"They trusted you before you spoke."
Storm was quiet.
"I don't ever want to betray that trust."

She looked at him.
"How can you be so sure?"
"Because you're asking that question."
The words settled somewhere deep inside her.
