River:Does that mean you haven’t figured it out yet?
Leo:Hey, Alex, I meant to tell you, I found another guy that sells pre-packed snowballs, just in case.
Alex:Awesome. Now I won’t stress so much if it doesn’t snow.
Vega:You can’t talk about details if you’re not going to tell us what we’re doing!
Alex:All you need to know is that it’s going to be the best bachelor/bachelorette party of all time.
Nix:We really need an acronym. It’s annoying to keep writing it out.
Rose:the B/B party.
River:That sounds too much like baby party.
Jasmine:Speaking of babies, I’m totally knocked up again, so I won’t be enjoying any liquor at this B/B party. Yay me.
Rose:Seriously???
River:Yup. At this rate we’ll have a kid to ruin all of your wedding dresses eventually.
Fox:You’re seriously telling us you’re having another baby over text? What is wrong with you?
Jasmine:We’re tired, Fox.
River:Very, very tired.

WYATT
“Why don’t you let me carry that?”
My wife stops walking to scowl at me over the box in her arms. I have to admit, it’s a pretty top-notch death-glare. I’ve seen this girl close multi-million-dollar merchandising agreements with that death-glare. I’ve seen her make disrespectful, full-of-excuses, late-on-their-orders fabric suppliers cry with that death-glare.
But I just grin. “You’re so cute when you think you’re being scary.”
“It won’t be so cute when I knee you in the balls.”
I raise an eyebrow. “I’m pretty sure an injury to that particular part of my anatomy would hurt you as much as it would hurt me, baby.”
She snorts out a laugh. “I suppose I am rather fond of your anatomy.”
“Seriously?” her little brother Nix groans as he passes behind us, laden down with two boxes of his own. “I really don’t need that imagery.”
“Sorry, buddy,” Alex calls, not sounding the least bit sorry. “Your sister finds her husband absolutely irresistible.”
“I hate you both,” Nix grumbles.
“Seriously.” I reach for the box. “Let me.”
“I can carry a box, Wyatt.” But her argument is half-hearted at best and we both know it. Alex is exhausted. Everly and Bodhi’s joint bachelor/bachelorette party has taken up a huge amount of her time and energy over the last few months. Alex’s best friend and her fiancé are nothing if not extra AF, and Alex and Leo have been working their asses off to make sure Everly and Bodhi get a party that’s every bit as over the top as they are.
And they’ve done a damn good job, even if I might be a bit biased. We’ve completely taken over the family’s Tennessee property. The snowy valley, with the evergreen covered mountains as a back drop, is the perfect location for a slew of outdoor winter activities. They’ve planned sled raises, snowman building competitions, and an epic snow ball fight/capture the flag game. There’s even a horse drawn wagon to take people on trips through the woods. They brought in carnival games and all kinds of themed food, which is starting to smell pretty damn good as the vendors get set up.
And just to make sure it doesn’t feel too childish—thisisa bachelor/bachelorette party—there are copious amounts of liquor to go along with the hot chocolate and vats of spiced wine and hard cider.
Like I said, completely extra. But also completely perfect for Everly and Bodhi.
