My brother had finally made it in and now I could have some man time, I didn’t have to hear girl gossip the entire time. We dapped up and he handed over a shot. They were already drinking.

“Aye man, you know it ain’t no talking to her. She going to do whatever she wants, and I can’t say a damn thing about it.”

“He knows. Anyway, I got some stuff planned for us. I saw jet skis and surf shops yesterday. Want to try it?”

“Arin please. I’m not going nowhere near that damn water. You can count me and my man out. Why can’t we go painting in town or learn how to make bread? Some simple shit.”

I looked at my baby with a confused expression. Who the fuck was getting ready to go make some damn bread? I shook my head from left to right because the jet skis sounded better. If she didn’t want to join, she could always lounge on the beach and wait for our return. I wasn’t going to force her.

“Baby I’m not doing that shit. We can go eat and then go from there. Ask a few folks what’s up and decide then,” I said reaching for the plate that was put in front of me.

“She had to know nobody was doing that shit. I’m down for asking around on what to do. After breakfast we can all go get ready and then head out,” Toya suggested.

Everyone agreed and began to dig in. I was excited to spend time with my woman and explore the city. I’d been to a lot of places before, but Italy wasn’t one of them. I saw brochures at the airport and I also GPS’d a few places. We were going to make the best of this trip.

Heading upstairs, Gia and I got dressed in matching couple’s fits. Seeing that she was in such a good mood, I was going to give her what she wanted.

“Can we ditch them and go do our own thing? I kind of don’t want to be around anyone else but you.”

“I’m not going anywhere baby. You don’t have to be selfish with me. We’re on vacation so have a good time boo.”

“I will but I still just want to spend time with you today. My girls can wait.”

“Come here,” I said stretching my arms out. “Why you acting like that?”

She began to pout, and I had to laugh. She was really showing her spoiled side, and I realized I created a monster overnight.

“Why don’t you want to be with just me?” she whined.

“I never said I didn’t baby. I’ll tell them they can go do whatever and we’ll catch up later. A’ight?”

She nodded with the biggest smile on her face. I couldn’t believe how fast she switched up.

“Thank you, baby!” she squealed.

“You’re welcome. I love you stink.”

“I love you too.”

Her reply wasn’t hesitant or dry. She was genuine and that made a nigga feel like he could conquer the world with that.

“When we get home, you’re moving in with me. You know that, right?”

“I didn’t but I’m not objecting to it. We’re at each other's house twenty-four seven anyway.”

“For someone who was just in denial, you sure seem to be a changed person.”

“You said you had me so that’s all I needed to hear. Don’t break your promise and I won’t kill you.”

“Are you threatening me mamas?”

“Not at all. However, I don’t play about me so be careful.”

“You ain’t got to tell me to be careful. I know I got a gem.”

“I’m glad you do.”
