"Vincent."

"All right. I wish them all the best but just adding that if he steps out on her even once, he's dead." He kissed her lips roughly. "Which would put a strain on our marriage."

"I said the same thing to him a week ago."

"Good, happy we're on the same page." He flipped her over. "Now on to more pleasant things."

"Like?"

"Making love to my lovely wife."

"I'm with you there."

They sat on the side of the bed and watched the little boy who was fast asleep.

"He had fun," Althea murmured, tucking the blanket around him.

"He had a ball," her husband corrected. It was almost midnight, but it had taken them two hours to get both children settled down for bed. The party had gotten out of hand, the guests more than they had expected. With almost two hundred children along with their parents running around, splashing in the pool, riding on the ponies that had been rented and petting the elephants and giraffes, not to mention eating the delicious ice cream cake Althea had made, it had taken a lot to rein them in at the end of the day.

"You must be tired." Rising, Vincent drew her into his arms.

"A little. I enjoyed every minute of it."

"We're not having anything like that for Danielle," he warned.

"Our daughter is going to want a princess theme," she predicted with a laugh.

"Thank God, tomorrow is Sunday."

"And we had a cleanup crew to do most of the work." She turned in his arms when they reached the landing. "We did not get a chance to go in the pool."

"When would that have happened?" he asked wryly. "With that many children invading our space, we never had time to even eat a proper meal."

"I say we do all of that now." She grabbed his arms and started down the stairs.

"What-"

"Mrs. Paddy is within hearing distance, and Danielle has started sleeping through the night. We could go skinny-dipping."

"It's almost midnight," he protested.

"And I'm starving." They stopped on the way to the kitchen as Mrs. Paddy poked her head out of her rooms.

"Is everything all right?"

"We're going swimming. Would you listen out for the children? They're asleep and I suspect they will sleep throughout the night."

"After all that excitement, I have no doubt. Go on." She waved a hand. "I'll keep an ear out." With that, she withdrew into her room.

"Cake and champagne," Althea decided.

"That's your idea of a meal?"

"Absolutely."

He had to admit that he had fun. His wife was like a child splashing in the water, her enthusiasm rubbing off on him.
