“Because it's true.” Angela finally spoke. Now she was safely in my arms again, she sounded stronger, more sure of herself. “My father blackmailed me into…well, let's just say I didn't have any choice but to agree to his terms and marry you. He was threatening to lay murder charges at Monster and…”

Benny’s eyes narrowed as he blew out a breath. “That is a very serious allegation, young lady, one that could ruin your father’s career.”

“His career is dead and buried. The files have already been sent. In a few hours he won’t have a career anymore.” The Judge laughed sharply. “Anyway, as nice as it is to see you again, Benny, and, hey, bad break on that last case, this little get together is a bit tame for my taste. Monster?” He looked over at us. The smile he gave us was very Judge-like “Angela, shall we go?”

I waited to see if she would agree.

“Yes, please, but I need to change. I can't ride in this dress.” She plucked at the meringue skirts with disgust.

“If you leave then you take nothing from this house, Angela. And you take nothing from the apartment I pay for either. If you walk out of the door then you leave with nothing.”

I knew it would scare her, thinking that she was penniless, and I didn't want her to be afraid. “Angel, you don't need any of that stuff. You want something, then I will get it and as for the dress...” I slid my hand across her waist, “The Judge is driving. You can change when we get home.”

The silence that followed was almost deafening.

“Ok, let's go home.”

ANGELA

“I can't go in there dressedlike this.” Mortified, I looked out into the night. The clubhouse was lit up. The light shining from the windows illuminated the bikes that were parked outside.

So many bikes. More than I had ever seen there.

“Sure you can.” Monster drew my attention back to him. The skin on his fingers was rough as he moved me to face him. “You look gorgeous.”

“I look like a damn meringue,” I murmured, but there was no real conviction in my voice. I couldn't be angry or outraged when he was looking at me the way he was. There was still the darkness in his eyes that had first attracted me to him but there was softness there as well. One that had nothing to do with weakness.

Monster wasn't weak. He was the strongest man I knew. I wasn't weak either. Straightening my shoulders, I puffed out a breath. “They are going to laugh their heads off when they see me like this.” Again I plucked at the material of the skirt. Battling my fear of weakness was one thing, being totally humiliated in a room full of bikers was totally different.

“No one will laugh at you,” The Judge said from the front of the car. His door was already open. “Everyone is too excited to see your bitchy little face again,” he added with a chuckle.

I swatted him on the shoulder. “My face is not bitchy.”

“No it's not, it's beautiful.” Leaning over, Monster rubbed my ear lobe between his finger and thumb. Dropping his head, he made me shiver as his warm breath washed over. “Especially when you cum. And just imagine all the wickedly nasty things I could do to you under that skirt. No one would even know I was under there.”

I laughed before I could help myself. In front of me, The Judge grumbled something before swinging himself out of the car and slamming the door with a few choice Italian words.

“I think you embarrassed him.” In the dark, I could only make out the outline of Monster's face and the whites of his eyes. Bringing my hands up, I cupped his face.

“I think he's jealous,” he countered. His lips hovered over mine. I wanted him to kiss me. On the entire car ride home he hadn't made a move. There seemed to be something stopping him. Maybe it was embarrassment that The Judge was right there watching us from the front seat, but I doubted it. Maybe he had just wanted us to be alone.

And we finally were.

“Are you going to kiss me or what?”

Something shifted on his face. “Yes.” The word had barely left his mouth when his lips descended on mine. It was a featherlight kiss at first. But one that soon deepened into something more.

My hands that had been holding his face, slipped around his head so I could hold his head to me. I didn't want the moment to end. It was perfect.

He was perfect, but only because he wasn't. Monster’s flaws made him the man he was.

The door he was pushing me against suddenly opened and I fell with a howl, Monster tumbling on top of me. The air left my lungs in a rush as I looked up at the sky that was suddenly above me.

Monster started laughing first, and once he started he couldn't seem to stop. I had a second where I was nothing but angry before my giggles joined in with his.

“Well...it is kind of funny.” Iris stepped into view above me. She seemed to have grown rounder in the week that I had been away. But it suited her. I couldn't blame her for the smile on her face as she tried not to laugh. We must’ve looked like a right pair. Me on my back with my stupid skirts up in the air and Monster laughing wildly on top of me.
