“Any reason you decided to open the door, Iris?” Lifting himself up, Monster reached down to help me stand which was no easy feat with my balloon-like skirts tangled around my legs.

“Yep, I've come to get the bride to be before you can defile her anymore.” Iris winked.

“She likes it when I defile her.”

I nodded my head in agreement. I did like it. I liked it a lot.

“Well your wicked ways will have to wait, Monster. You don't get to keep her all to yourself tonight. We all want to see her.” Clutching at my hand, she started walking. I didn't have a chance to ask who wanted to see me. The happiness on her face was contagious and I would see soon enough who wanted to see me. All I had to do was follow her.

Casting a look over my shoulder, I met Monster's eyes. He nodded. “Go, I'll come find you in a minute.”

“Well, don't you look good enough to eat.” Fang greeted me at the bar, nodding his approval even though his eyes were shining with laughter. “Sweet as icing,” he added with a chuckle.

“Like icing, yep, that's me in this dress. I feel like I should be on a damn cake.” Gratefully, I accepted the bottle of beer offered to me, taking a long pull from it before I smiled at his old lady. Gypsy grinned back, bobbing her head along to the music. “Well, I think you look beautiful.” She added. “Monster is a lucky man, so you and him...”

Fang shot her a warning look and she promptly shut her mouth. “Sorry, that's none of my business.”

“It’s ok. Yeah me and him.” I moved the bottle from one hand to the other, suddenly nervous. I didn't know why. Maybe it was because there were so many new faces or maybe it was simply because I could feel everyone's eyes on me. I felt like the main attraction at a freakshow. Like I should break into song and dance and entertain them all. “If he still wants me of course.”

I already knew he still wanted me. He wouldn't have come and saved me if he didn’t. He might not have said the words, but then again neither had I. It didn't mean the feelings weren't there.

“Why is everyone staring at me?” I lowered my voice. It was becoming too much, the weight of everyone's stares.

“Might have something to do with what's going on behind you.” Cyber sidled up, Iris clutched to his side and a dark-haired little girl held in his other arm. She was dressed in a party dress. Her sparkly tights caught the light as he swung her legs back and forth.

“Behind me?” I whirled, almost tripping over my long skirts in my haste.

Monster was there. Not two feet from me. On his knees. There was a ring in his hand. But it wasn't the diamond that sparkled that I couldn't tear my eyes from. It was him.

My monster, down on his knees in front of me, almost like he was going to...

“Will you marry me?”

“Monster?” I croaked, my fingers slipped from the bottle and Cyber caught it before it could smash to the floor, but not before it had dumped half of its contents over the front of my dress.

“Answer the poor guy for fuck’s sake,” Havoc grumbled from somewhere behind me and someone else laughed.

“Monster I…” Why wouldn't my words come out properly? My tongue felt thick in my mouth.

“Look,” he didn’t move, “I know this is a lousy proposal and you deserve so much more. But I want you to be mine, Angel. You can have the wedding of your dreams, the marriage of your dreams. Hell, you want me to buy you black designer wedding dresses every week then I will do it. As long as I get to see you walk down the aisle in it.”

“Do I get to wear a property patch as well?”

Monster’s eyes widened as my words sank in. “Angel, you can wear whatever you want as long as you're mine.”

Reaching down, I pulled him to his feet.

“So, does that mean?”

Rushing forward, I melded my body to his. This time when he kissed me there was nothing gentle about it.

“Yes, I'll marry you.”
