I left her there on her knees. It was an asshole move, and I knew it, but I just didn’t really care.

I had more important things to do.

Slipping easily between my brother, my real one and not just one of my club brothers and Ruin, his oldest friend as they lounged back on the old sofa that took centre stage in the middle of the room.

Avery, Ruin’s old lady, was draped over his lap. And I gave her a small smile.

“Hey, Truth.” She blushed slightly, and it made me smile more. A while ago before they had sorted their shit out and got together properly, we had made out a little. It had been nothing, some drunken fooling around but I knew she was embarrassed about it still. Mainly because she had done it to get a rise out of the man, she was now sat on top, but she didn’t need to be. Ruin was cool with it, in his own way. If he hadn’t been, he would have taken a swing at me. If I tried it on again, he wouldn’t even hesitate though, not that I ever would.

Ruin was like blood.

“Hey, Avery.” I turned towards my brother. “Who is the new girl?”

“New girl?” He raised his eyebrows. And the curiosity was clear on his face. His eyes scanned the room. I knew the moment he saw her. He literally did a double-take. “Where the hell has she been hiding?”

Cursing under my breath, I forced myself to act casual. “Came with Gem, but I met her briefly earlier when she was getting some ink done by Gent.” I didn’t bother mentioning that I couldn’t get her round ass out of my head. He didn’t need to know how interested I was in her.

“Gent fucking her?”

“He said he wasn’t … but.”

My brother’s eyes narrowed as he turned his face towards me. “You planning on fucking her?”

“Yeah,” I said it without hesitation. I didn’t lie, especially not to Wicked.

He nodded slowly.

“Then why are you sat here with us?” Avery said from her perch on top of Ruin. Her cheeks were flushed, and I looked away. It was pretty obvious what was going on under her skirt.

Still, she had a point. Why was I sitting here when I should be making my move? I knew why, though. “She just saw me getting head man,” I half groaned. And their laughter bubbled up.

“For fuck sake brother, you sure do know how to make an impression.”

I watched her for the rest of the night, but I didn’t make a move to go and speak to her. Although I kind of suspected she wanted me to. She glanced in my direction several times when she thought I wasn’t looking. She wouldn’t have much luck on that, I was always looking.

It would have been creepy if I hadn’t been so clever about it.

I was good at surveillance. And Jesus Christ, she was a lot nicer to look at than some of my other targets.

Other people had noticed her as well, and that pissed me off, but I didn’t move to stake my claim. After what she had seen earlier, I wasn’t even sure she would give me the time of day.

It was almost comical how tied up in knots she had me. I hadn’t even had a conversation with her, I didn’t know her name, and yet she seemed to be the only thing I could see.

Instant lust. I got it often enough, but not like this. She was like a bright light, and I was a moth powerless to resist her glow.

Just looking at her as she laughed and flirted was enough to make my dick twitch. How was that even possible? She wasn’t wearing anything particularly sexy, the same clothes she had been wearing when I had first met her. The shirt was unbuttoned a little lower, the oversized material dropping over one shoulder.

Damn, she was hot.

“If you stare any harder, your eyes are gonna pop out .” Gent flung himself into the chair next to me. His hair mussed up. I hid my grin. “What am I a fucking cartoon character?”

“Might as well be the way you’re acting. What’s got you so worked up over her?”

“No fucking idea.” That was the truth. I had no clue why I was so interested in her when there were at least five women here tonight who would come running if I clicked my fingers.
