“We must,” Lady Rendon said cheerfully as the rest of his family approached them.

Kellan offered Sophia a hand and helped her to her feet before pulling Caspian up as well.

“But don’t worry,” his mother continued. “You’ll have Caspian by your side through it all.”

“Yes, I will,” Sophia said, smiling up at him as he wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close.

“Does this mean you’ll be moving to Riyel?” Liliana asked.

“We’ll have to go for a while,” Caspian said, “but we’ll definitely come back to visit, and maybe someday we’ll build an estate out here, too.”

“And we can always visit Riyel more,” Lady Rendon said as she gave them both a hug. “Visiting the city is much more appealing when I have someone I love there.”

“I was there for two years and you didn’t visit,” Caspian protested.

Lady Rendon smiled. “I meant Sophia,” she said sweetly.

Liliana grabbed his elbow. “I think you should have a home here, too. And then, when you have children, I can play with them.”

Caspian smiled at his sister, but his mind was running wild with images of children running around with Sophia’s dark hair and his eyes.

Yes, he could imagine bringing his children here, and when he looked at Sophia, he knew she was thinking of it, too.

Mollie jumped up on Sophia’s leg, letting out a loud noise as she begged for attention.

“I’ll miss Mollie though,” Sophia said.

Caspian rolled his eyes, but he smiled down at the little goat. “We can bring Mollie with us, if Liliana can spare her. And if she can’t, I’ll get you some goats of your own.”

Sophia reached up and pulled him down to kiss him again. “I think we’re going to be very happy,” she said with a smile. “You, me, and our goats.”

This wasn’t the future he’d imagined when he came home, but there was nothing else he’d rather have. “You, me, and our goats,” he agreed.
