He turned his attention to her other nipple.

“More. Hand inside.” She tugged on his hand and tried to shove it into her shorts.

“And way too bossy.”

“Am not.”

“Want to make a bet?” He sat up. “You sit and let me do whatever I want to your body and you.” He held his fingers up, watching her frustrated scowl. “One, be quiet, two, be still, and three do what I say without questions. But if you talk, I’ll stop.”

Her eyes narrowed and he burst out laughing. “You’re dying to talk, aren’t you?”

She moved two fingers across her lips like a zipper and then opened her arms welcoming the challenge.

Forty-five seconds later she was begging and screaming his name.

He didn’t stop.

“Wow. Best sex ever,” she said, breathlessly.

“And you didn’t follow directions. At. All.”

“What? I did everything you asked me to do.”

“Sweetheart, you didn’t stop talking, yelling, or telling me what to do the entire time. I had to tie your hands to get you to obey.”

“I don’t like that word. Obey.” She made a face. “And you tied me up because you like kink, not because I wasn’t following instructions.”

He rolled his eyes and kissed her nose just as his phone began to ring. He reached over to press the answer and speaker buttons.

“Talk to me, Josef.”

“So, interesting stuff. SLP did not work with RLC Records but they did work with TNT before they were signed with RLC. They helped with the small gigs in 2012.”

“2012? Megan wasn’t even in the band in 2012.”

“I know. But there’s gotta be some sort of connection,” Joey said.

“Anything else?” Jax asked.

“Not yet.”

“Okay. Anything new, you call. Even if it seems like nothing.”

“Gotcha.”

After he hung up, he stood, slid his gym shorts back on, and paced back and forth. “Gotta think this through.”

“What is SLP, anyway?”

“Spotlight Lighting and Production. It’s the lighting company where Ryan was employed for a short time. Only about a month.”

“What made you think to ask about SLP and not his other employers?”

“It’s the only one that could sort of make sense with a band. He worked at some retail stores for different periods of times and then was unemployed and in the middle of that, had a short stint at SLP.”

It was later that evening, when both of them were lounging around the living room trying to figure out a connection with Ryan, when Jax’s phone rang again.
