Merciless Bratva Soldier

“Don’t come any closer.”

Those are the first words Nikolai Sokolov says to me when I find him bleeding behind my bakery at midnight.
He is huge. Tattooed. Dangerous.

A sensible woman would lock the door and call the police.
I drag him inside.
Five days later, Nikolai returns with clean towels, a scarred smile, and eyes that make me forget every lesson my failed marriage taught me about dangerous men.

He says he wants coffee.
He keeps coming back for me.

For the first time in years, I let myself imagine more than survival. A bakery of my own. A home that belongs to me. A life with the terrifyingly gentle man waiting at my back door.

Then my ex-husband shows up, desperate for money. A photograph taken inside my bakery proves someone is watching me.

And Nikolai finally tells me the truth.
He is a soldier for the Volkov Bratva.

“I enforce their orders,” he says. “Sometimes, I kill for them.”

I feel guilty killing a spider.
And I’m falling for a man who kills for the Bratva.

Now his enemies know exactly where to find me. And I discover he has been arranging my protection without telling me.
Nikolai will destroy anyone who threatens me.
But if he wants a future with me, he has to stop protecting me from the truth.
