The Mobster’s Maid

Vincenzo
I don’t lose control. Not once. Not ever.
Control is the only thing standing between the man I became and the boy who nearly starved on the streets at ten years old. I own one of the most sought-after clubs in Los Angeles. The Moretti crime family trusts me to run their city. Grown men lower their eyes when I walk into a room.
Then my maid starts leaving warm biscotti on my counter like I am not one of the most feared men in LA.
Rosalie doesn’t tremble when she finally sees me. Doesn’t lower her eyes. She has quietly been turning my empty house into a home for two years without my permission and something I buried thirty years ago starts clawing its way back up my chest.
She is twenty-four. She works for me. Every rule I have made over the last twenty years says I should send her on her way.
I keep her instead.
One taste of my curvy, sass-mouthed maid, and I am unravelling in ways a man like me never permits himself to unravel.
Then she is taken.
I will burn Los Angeles to the ground to bring her home.
