Rayne came to Cairncliff to kill a dragon. Not to kiss one.
This secret mission is Rayne’s chance to finally prove that, despite her gender and her childhood in the orphanage, she can serve the Valgros Royal Army. When she enters a dusty antiquities shop looking for information about the dragon she’s been sent to kill, Rayne isn’t expecting the gorgeous man behind the counter to take her breath away. And she certainly isn’t expecting him to invite her out for wine…and more.
Doshir moved to the sleepy village of Cairncliff to escape the constant drama of dragon politics, not to mention his cheating ex-girlfriend. When a beautiful woman from the mysterious kingdom of Valgros arrives on his doorstep, Doshir is delighted to be mistaken for a human, and he’s even happier to have the chance to seduce a woman who isn’t only interested in him because he’s a dragon.
But secrets have a way of coming to light, and one night will tie Rayne and Doshir’s destinies together in ways neither of them can imagine. In a city where dragons take human form and forbidden magic runs wild, betrayal waits for both the dragons and the dragon hunters.
