Laila Nelson has been known to be rebellious since she was a young kid. Everyone expected that by the time she would be married, her wild spirit would have become easier to tame, but they were all wrong! After the announcement of her marriage, Laila does something unheard of even for her; she runs away.
A noble lass alone in the Highlands would never survive for too long, and indeed after a while, she encounters what looks like a wounded animal. However, as she gets closer, Laila realizes that this is not an animal. Instead, it is the largest man she has ever seen.
The beastly Highlander is almost dead, yet when a wolf attacks them, he bravely saves her only to collapse right after. Laila is ecstatic to see him wake up a bit later, but she discovers that he has lost his memory. Her mysterious savior can not survive alone in the wild, and to help him, she must risk being found, and take him to the closest village.
As the two reach a nearby settlement, fate plays an evil game to the young lass. The villagers recognize the giant warrior, and unfortunately, he is the cousin of her betrothed, whom she tried to run away from! Can Laila trust the warrior to help her avoid the marriage, or is meeting him a sign that she can not escape fate?
