“We can discuss it tonight,” he replies with a smirk, “when I take you to bed. It’s usually when you come around to my way of thinking.”
“Ass,” I mutter.
As I lie back, watching him pull on his jeans and throwing on his t-shirt over his tanned shoulders, I bite my lip to stop myself from moaning over the image. When he catches me gawking, he laughs before leaning down to kiss me on the cheek.
“Again?” he asks with a happy expression.
“I would, yeah,” I reply bluntly. He begins kissing me with his expert tongue, but before I can pull him back on top of me, he jumps away, then lifts me up to get dressed.
“This kind of behavior won’t cut it when we’re married, you know,” I huff.
“Babe, when we’re married, we won’t be leaving the bedroom for I don’t know how long,” he says as we walk out hand in hand.
“May third,” Nate announces to everyone. To my horror, Cam, aka my boss, bursts out laughing and high-fives his little brother. He then offers me a kiss on the cheek while I feel myself turning a deep shade of red.
“Congratulations,” he says to me, “my brother’s a lucky guy.”
“Nate!” I whisper-shout with humiliation. “He’s my boss too, you know!”
“Relax, Bea,” Cam says as he cuddles Lily into his side, “I’m not letting my best assistant go anywhere. I have big plans for you. Especially after you proved yourself under your last boss. He was a total A-hole!”
“Let’s hope I make a better husband,” Nate says, flipping the bird at his brother.
“You better,” Lily says sternly. “Though, judging by the blushing glow on Bea’s face, I’m guessing you’re an expert in one area at least.”
“Oh, my God!” I gasp while she laughs.
“Oh, screw it,” I finally say, giving into it, “Nateisan expert in that department.”
“Thank you, baby,” he says before kissing me on the cheek, “but only with you.”
My past is finally behind me, and I’ve found my happiness with a guy who I know truly loves me.
“To Bea and Nate!” Cam toasts while raising his glass.
